The latch system needs to be examined for if its too tight it blows open or you cant close the lever if its too loose the frame swings out even with rubber shim installed.

I found this rack does what I need, and for the low price does it well,it does take a little muscle to get it tight enough so it doesnt swivel on the seat post.but with a trunk bag,i can carry what I need to work without a backpack or my messenger bag-very comfortable in 100 degree heat.

Rack was easy to install. If I put some pressure on it, it does move from side to side. Still held up to a small cooler on a lite rail trail. Only problem is saddle bag doesn't fit well with front lip of rack.

Comments about Ascent Seatpost Rack with Quick Release:

I commute with 5/6s of my route off-road. Even shimmed, the rack had a tendency to swing out. I imagine that on a more stable ride, this would be less of an issue but for me, it was such a great aggravation that I replaced it with a rack with side attachments. If you have a relatively smooth commute though and are on a budget/have a bike that you can't have any side bars on, this can hold a decent amount of weight well but if you're doing anything aggressive consider an upgrade.

Comments about Ascent Seatpost Rack with Quick Release:

Very lightweight yet sturdy. If you shim the seat post properly then the quik release will be in the correct position and shouldn't catch on shorts (unless you're super baggy)

Perfect for road, haven't tried offroad, though I wouldn't recommend any sort of rack for hard core mtn biking

I used this communting to work all last summer. Take the road to work and trails coming home. It works great, but the quick release lever sticks out some and is in a bad position... if I'm wearing baggy shorts every 15 minutes or so they catch on the lever during a pedal stroke and release the quick release! It's not fallen completely off yet since there is a grove the release fits in... but I'm waiting for it to happen :) I clamp it tight as I can and it helped some... but now I'm worried the thin alum clamp arm will break... haha. I'll try the Delta version next time since it looks like it's release aims backwards and out of the way more.
