Have used them for years since I could never get used to cleats. They work with most shoes and are trouble-free. With a snug fit, have the same advantage as clip-on pedals.

I love the idea but after trying to put these on my bike for an hour, I gave up and returned them. The compression screw design seems a bit risky, would have preferred a more secure closure for the end of the strap.

Comments about BPP Power Grips MTB Pedal Strap:

Got these for my commuter so I could ride with normal shoes instead of having to clip in. I found that after years of road racing, I just don't feel comfortable riding without retention. These do a pretty good job although getting them dialed in takes a bit of fiddling. Depending on what kind of shoes you wear you may need to loosen them for different (bigger) shoes. "Unclip" motion is identical to SPD, which is familiar and convenient.

Comments about BPP Power Grips MTB Pedal Strap:

I just finished the Washington DC to Pittsburgh trail ride using the power grips. I have ridden for the last 40 years with either toe clips and cleats or bicycling shoes with cleats, I found it difficult to ride using platform petals. Since I did not want to use by bike shoes with cleats on this off road ride, the power grip was the perfect compromise. I made one adjustment to them for comfort on the 400 mile trip and didn't have a single problem.

Comments about BPP Power Grips MTB Pedal Strap:

I've had Power Grips on my pedals on our tandem almost since they appeared on the market. When we were riding with our babies in the trailer, I could get out of the pedals quickly when we had to stop for the kids' needs, or if I needed to jump off and adjust the trailer when passing through a narrow bike gate. Also, my right grip is slightly looser, specifically so I could get out if we were tipping over. And, in fact, even though I'm a small person, I saved us a number of times.

Sadly, my husband was killed on his racing bike, and the tandem sits. I'm a great stoker, but not a confident solo cyclist. I am considering buying an adult tricycle for local errands, and I came looking for Power Grips for that purpose. I'm very pleased to see they have thrived in the market, and I intend to return to purchase when I'm ready to buy my next set of (3) wheels.

Comments about BPP Power Grips MTB Pedal Strap:

This product was easy to install on common toe-clip type road pedals (not using the toe-clips of course).

I recommend narrow walking shoes, boat shoes, vans, or narrow sneakers with laces. Wide shoes make entry difficult. Warning, double knot your laces or tuck them into the shoe. These may cause your laces to untie and snag in the axle. Esp important on coaster brake bikes.

I use these on a bargain road bike and like them for rides less than 20 miles.

They are great for mtn biking if you don't really care for stunts or high beam riding. Don't ride with the straps hanging under the pedal.

I have been using Power Straps for years...finally broke one the the hinges, but the strap material is intact. Very easy to use. These straps allow a wide range of foot positions that can be very important for someone with morton's neuromae, or other foot problems. No learning curve, either! So easy.

Been using these through the summer and the more I ride the more I appreciate them. I do mostly urban riding, city streets. Flat bar road bike, Specialized Sirius. These keep my feet secure to the petals and actually give me confidence out of the saddle trying to get through a busy intersection. No problem getting out quickly. You feet just naturally slide out.
