Continental Town & Country City Tire
Whether you're chasing down some bad dudes or just trying to get to work, the Continental Town & Country City tire is a proven, reliable tire that can handle pretty much anything you throw at it. Designed to handle everything from paved roads to rough gravel paths, this tire helps eliminate pinch flats, plenty of tread to keep you hooked into the ground, and low rolling resistance.
  • The Continental Town & Country MTB Tires are well known for their low rolling resistance on streets, yet off-road their unique negative tread design hooks up amazingly well

Comments about Continental Town & Country City Tire:

I have been using Town & Country tires for 15 years or more. I have had great success with the tire's durability and ground control. I really do not ride much in wet conditions. The dry condition performance is fantastic.

Comments about Continental Town & Country City Tire:

Great dual purpose tire, very comfortable and very low rolling resistance. I bought a set of these for my mountain bike that I ride mostly casually and around town. I liked them so well, I bought a second set for my police patrol bike. The major complaint is that they puncture very easily, so watch where you ride. it's really a five star product with a four star problem.

Comments about Continental Town & Country City Tire:

Kind of early to tell how they'll work out - it's kind of hard to review a tire when it's fresh on the bike, but I like what I see so far. They were kind of a pain in the butt to get them to seat perfectly on the bead of the rim. These aren't the first tires I've had this problem with. I'll give them some time to break in, but I've generally been pretty satisfied with Continental products.

Comments about Continental Town & Country City Tire:

Needed a tire with less rolling resistance to ride more pavement than dirt for an upcoming century. This was the tire. I have about 200 miles on them with no problems. Rolling resistance is less than even my Richey Beta Max. This IS the Korean made tire (not German) but quality has not been an issue in any way.

Comments about Continental Town & Country City Tire:

Replaced knobby tires on my wife's cruiser, as I had the Town & Country tires on my Trek. I would roll way ahead of her before, and she worked twice as hard as me. Now we roll together, and she noticed the difference right away. We are biking twice as far without a rest now. She doesn't complain of sore legs either. What a difference a quality tire makes!!! These are great for hard packed dirt and trails too.

I always have tires like this around for my mountain bike, for paved roads ,dirt roads, and on the beach! These work better on beach sand than knobbies, because they float rather than dig in!

Comments about Continental Town & Country City Tire:

Riding out of a mountain town with mixed road conditions from dirt roads to paved sections and back again, this tire has provided good service thus far.Easy to mount and except for steep sandy pitches gives good traction. On paved sections rolls great and increased my speed over more textured tires. They are performing well for my needs and I would recommend them to others who have to ride similar road conditions.

Comments about Continental Town & Country City Tire:

I was given these as a gift from a family member. They recommended these tires to me because I was riding with knobby tires for my commuting during the time. They are a perfect fit for my MTB and errands and trips I make now. The traction is great for road riding and they are alot more faster. They also do a good job cushioning hard bumps on the road too. These are great tires to have.

Comments about Continental Town & Country City Tire:

I can only give my opinion on how the Continental Town & Country's worked for us. While initially, these tires were on the higher end of multi-purpose tires, but currently on Nashbar, you can find them on sale for excellent pricing. I am no longer on the PD bike unit, so I am unaware if they changed the composition of this model since my last exposure. Our unit saw the initial evolution of the Town & Country from a more aggressive tread to the recessed tread design with the continuous center rib. Our Unit rode these tires all year, in every imaginable weather condition...through alleys, parks, stairs, sidewalks and streets. Our officers ranged in weight from 180 to a 300 pound former NFL player without a blow-out or failure. In the roughly fifteen years I was on the unit, our tires consistently outperformed every other tire we tried. The tread lasted "forever" and it was a fine compromise as a dual purpose tire. I recall no catastrophic flats while patrolling, as I was one of the primary mechanics as well. Our unit was aggressive and often rode between 35 and 50 miles per shift, we were not a "park-n-ride" unit. Personally, I chose this tire for my family's MTB for our casual excursions.
