Comments about GORE BIKE WEAR Windstopper Balaclava:

I bought this to replace a current head cover. The cover is a great wind stopper but it is not warm. Also the nose and mouth cover have holes in it which are supposed to help from having your glasses fog up but my glasses fog up worse that my old one. It is made very well and does stop the wind but not very good for the winter riding I bought it for.

Comments about GORE BIKE WEAR Windstopper Balaclava:

The windstopper fabric is much better than I expected. I have worn this on some mid-20s degree mornings and the fabric really does an excellent job of protecting you from cold wind. My biggest complaint is that the nose flap has way too much material. The fabric hangs down far below my nose. Because of this, the breath coming out of my nose backs up inside the balaclava and some of it gets directed up toward my eyes, steaming up my glasses. Also, my head isn't very big, and I find that the face cutouts are in the wrong place for me. Getting the eye, nose, and mouth cutouts all positioned properly is very difficult, and they don't stay where you need them once you get them where you need them. I think Gore should consider offering multiple sizes of this product. This one problem prevents me from giving it five stars. It is otherwise an stellar piece of gear.

Comments about GORE BIKE WEAR Windstopper Balaclava:

One of the primary functions of a balaclava, in my mind anyway, is to warm the air on really cold morning to prevent lung pain. The holes over the mouth on this item allow for easy breathing, but no warming. Since I only use balacavas on really cold mornings, this item has proved useless.

Comments about GORE BIKE WEAR Windstopper Balaclava:

Great idea, but doesn't solve the problem of having your glasses fog up. The only reason I spent considerably more money on this product was in the hope that it would eliminate fogging, so I'm returning it.

Works really well in the cold weather. I was comfortable with it down to 35 degrees. Can probably work well down to 25-30.
