Comments about Crank Bros. Crank Brothers Candy 3 Pedals:

These are the first clipless pedals I have ever used. I have been riding them for about 2 months now and I love them! Very easy to learn on. It may be common between all the pedals but I really like the fact that there are 2 "settings" for the release. The 1st "setting" is for the newb's (like me) where it releases at a smaller angle and the 2nd "setting" for the more advanced riders that like to have that extra few degrees in the twist before they release. (I hope that makes sense.) I use these primarily for mountain/trail riding and seems like this year it has been raining non-stop in Michigan so I have had my fair share of muddy rides. I have had very few instances of not being able to clip back in due to the mud and of the few times it has happened it was because of mud stuck in my shoes and not in the pedal. The Candy 3's look cool and are easy to install.

Comments about Crank Bros. Crank Brothers Candy 3 Pedals:

I just got off the trail and the Candy 3's performed great. I was a bit nervous taking my cx bike on the mtn. bike trail for the first time, but it was great. There were a couple of times I would have lost control if I wasn't clipped in. There was a ton of mud but it was easy to clip back in and clean up afterwards. I highly recommend the Candy's.
By the way, I chose these over the eggbeaters because of the platform. It comes in handy when I just need to hop on my bike quick and don't feel like putting on my bike shoes.

Comments about Crank Bros. Crank Brothers Candy 3 Pedals:

I live in South Florida and ride a recumbent most of the time. Have used SPD with sandals and Look Keo with road shoes on the bent back and forth over the past 4 years. A recumbent requires a firm footing. Look, which I always like best on a diamond frame, is not sure footed when stopping and starting from a bent. Sandals work well, but require foot support because of the flex in the sole necessary for walking. Combination pedals with a platform on one side and SPD on the other are generally quite heavy. Sandals are relatively heavy too, and the combination is noticeably less efficient than Keo. The Candy 3 offers less weight than other SPD pedals I have tried with a small platform that seems adequate even for long weekend rides. For the first time in years I am riding with little or no foot numbness or the dreaded hot foot. Wonderful. I like the quality of the bearings and general feel of the Candy 3s and that they can be rebuilt. Strongly recommended.
