Comments about Nashbar Duro Comp Road Tire:

A good tire. I've put about 1,000 miles on them with no ill effects. it's really hard to explain the cons in just a few bullets, but the biggest problem with the tire is that it's hard to find the "butter zone" for air pressure. I finally setteled with 100-105 PSI, but I really don't think that I found the optimum pressure. For the Money, I think I'll stick with the Prima Plus tire.

I love these tires and they look good on my bike! I use them for my raod bike on streets and trails. Corner nicely and I have a nice ride with them. The wierd thing is the price! They are so reasonable for the price! I really like Nashbar's own brand and buy it over any other brand when I can.

Comments about Nashbar Duro Comp Road Tire:

I needed to replace the tires on my commuter and did not want to spend the $ on high end tires for this use. Though tight going on that is not an issue for me as there are ways to address that. This characteristic is found on many tire brands regardless of price and not a negative in my book, actually more of a positve as there is less of a chance of the tire (esp front) "snaking" off on a downhill flat (B.T.D.T). The cornering, acceleration and decent low rolling resistance was a surprise and made my commuter "feel" like a road bike. BTW, the frame I built on for commuting is a hybrid and more suited for touring. I can see using this brand for road training rides...

              Hi Nashbar and fellow cyclists.

It is 13 below zero here in Michigan today. So although there is nothing I'd like better than to ride and rate my new Duro Comp tires, I have not been able to test them out. What I can say though is that my phone order was perfect, correct, sales and technical questions were answered. Delivery was quick and painless... as always, Nashbar never lets me down. Dee Whitmore

Comments about Nashbar Duro Comp Road Tire:

I bought a pair of these for my girlfriend because my preferred Nashbar Prima Plus 2s were unavailable at the time and she wanted replacement tires. (The stock Kendra's on her new bike punctured easily and we wanted the protective belts to avoid the hassles.) As others have noted, the Comps were a bit harder than the Primas to install but not a real problem. She now has something over 200 miles on them and is pleased with their performance. Too soon to tell about real mileage durability. They are heavier--by about 50 grams--than the Prima Plus 2s (per specs) and carry a much higher pressure rating (110 to 130 versus 90 to 100 for the Prima Plus 2s) but I don't have an opinion on the value of that difference. So far these appear to be a good value.

These tires are a little on the difficult side to get mounted the first time, but once they're on they're solid tires. I've ridden them for a couple months, so I'm not 100% sure of the durability, but if they hold up like I hope, I will buy these tires again.

I bought 4 of these tires, two 4 me and 2 4 a friend. They were extremely difficult to mount. They seem very stiff in cross section. The result is that the bead will not stay on rim when you are trying to work your way around tire to mount. I would get bead seated ... move a few inchews down the tire and have the bead pop back off the rim. If I did not have strong hands and some experience mounting would have been impossible.
