Nashbar Street Light USB Tail Light
Nobody likes buying new batteries. We've been known to switch the batteries between our TV and DVD remotes just to avoid buying them, and don't even get us started on batteries for bike lights. We got so sick of it, we just made our own rechargeable tail lights. We're proud to introduce the Nashbar Street Light USB: a small, USB rechargeable light that fits anywhere on your bike or helmet.
  • USB rechargeable means no more slowly fading lights until you are absolutely forced to buy new batteries
  • Red LED light is lightweight, bright, easy to see and nearly indestructible
  • Weatherproof silicone housing makes these perfect for riding in any weather
  • Easily attaches anywhere on your bike
  • 3 modes: high, low and flash
Nashbar Street Light USB Tail Light
  • MFPARTNUMBER ECO-1R(C)
  • RUN TIME 2.5 hours (high), 5.5 hours (low), 11 hours (flash)
  • BRIGHTNESS
  • MODES 3 (high, low, flash)

Surprisingly, this is a great little light.
      Very Bright.
Easy to power on; even wearing lobster gloves.

Shine Angle can not be adjusted. but you have two angles if you invert the installation.
Single LED, but slightly refracting lens creates a wider pattern.

this is a great idea for a product, but really poor battery. maybe i got a bad batch? i ordered 2 head lights and 2 tailights... none will hold a charge and are not reliable for night riding. nothing worse than thinking you have fresh battery and then 10 miles from home you realize you have no functioning tail light.

Comments about Nashbar Street Light USB Tail Light:

It is my first tail light for my bike and I am very satisfy with this product. It is very easy to install by the elastic band that is attached to the light. When you install, the light is angled. So put the on/off button on your left side in order to be visible to cars. I made that mistake and it was blinking on my tire in my night ride.

Comments about Nashbar Street Light USB Tail Light:

I purchased three of these lights in one order. The order arrived within a few days. Unfortunately two of the three lights did not work at all. I contacted customer service at Nashbar, which was very polite and responsive. I was told to send them back using a prepaid postage return label that was on the original shipping label. Customer service even offered to send me a prepaid label if I could not find the original. I have asked that Nashbar send replacement lights, not a refund, but I have also asked that they check them before shipment. The one light that does work seems very good. It charges within a few hours. It has one very bright LED. I like the simple way it attaches to the seat post, using a thick rubber band that is molded into the light. The only design flaw (other than the fact that 2/3rds of the lights that were shipped didn't work!) is that the LED seems to be set into the light kind of deep, and may not be very visible from the side. But if the replacement lights work properly I'll be very happy with these lights.

This light is very bright, and the USB charging is great.
I expected it to be more symetrical, but it's angled so the light will be level when mounted on a seat post. I have a seat bag, so I couldn't mount it on my seat post. I mounted it on the bag vertically and it's pointed slightly to the traffic side of the bike (which is probably better than having it point straight back).

Comments about Nashbar Street Light USB Tail Light:

I'm liking this one. Easy on/off bike with stretchy rubber mount strap - stays put. Easy USB charging, no need for another unique charger. Easy to turn on/off while riding because it mounts to seat post and has a positive tactial feedback switch. Easiest switch to operate of all my lights - I have several - cheap to very expensive.
All other manufacturers should take a lesson from this switch action.
I've only had it for a week - so don't know yet about it's durability. But it is already my favorite taillight.
