Bought these to try using spd's. Adjusted down to lowest tension easy in/out with shimano sh56. worked great never came uncliped accidentally. I like the fact that I can use regular shoes also.

Haven't had the pedals long - 150 miles, but really like them so far. Clean and simple. Not a lot of extra metal. An spd on one side, a flat platform on the other. That's it. I bike Pennsylvania roads with rolling hills and groomed trails. Both conditions require the occasional need to be disconnected from the bike but still have a surface the shoe can get a grip on. The Sohos have been reliable on both sides.

            Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

Bought these to use on a commuter/gravel grinder that I also take out with the family. The ability to use non-cleat shoes during the family rides is a big bonus. I have put over 400 miles through these so far and they have held up fantastic. Standard maintenance so far: greased the bearing shaft inside the pedal body, tightened the torx bolts that hold the cleat portion of the pedal, greased the spring mechanism on the cleat body. They are easy to clip in and out of (only fell once and couldn't unclip in time due to operator error) and easy to adjust the tension. The float also helps save my knees a bit as I tend to move the bike a lot during hard climbs/sprints.

After years of ridding with cleats felt uncomfortable with flat pedals.these are great!
Can clip in when riding alone. Since I take my kids for bike rides using child seat I also bought from nashbar I want to use streat shoes so that I don't risk falling from not being able to unclip

I have the shimano pedals that are similar to these and these pedals out perform the shimano. Easier to release than shimano. Plan on buying these for my other bikes. Save over half the price than the Shimano.

Purchased these for my wife who alwyas had a phobia about clipless pedals. This pair replaced her old clunky Look style pedals. Turns out the SPD style of this pedal design, easy clip in and vesatility has cured that. She loves them and at the lowest settings she is happily pedalling way with greater confidence and much greater effiency! She loves them and we're doing a lot more cycling together!

This is my second pair of these. I sold my bike and couldn't find the original pedals that came on the bike. I immediately bought another set for my new bike. These allow me to ride with regular shoes when I bike ride with my kids and use my riding shoes when I am out on a serious ride.

                    Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

I have about 10 000 miles on these pedals and they have performed well. I did not use the flat sides much until the day I forgot my shoes on an away from home group ride. I wore running shoes for the 50 mile ride and had no problem keeping up, or with foot comfort. The best use is on stop and go group rides, were it is very easy to start and clip in later as apposed to having to clip in right away (especially with road shoes/pedals). Another good use is when a ride gets sketchy; (pedestrians, cars, obstacles, leaves, ice, etc.) just ride on the flat sides until conditions improve.

I wish the flat side was a bit larger as I have seen some similar pedals with a larger platform. But, of course that might make them heavier.

I was using these pedals after minor knee surgery and it was painful to clip out until I set the release pressure much lower. I've never reset to a higher level as I realized for my riding style getting in and out easily is more important than a super secure connection. I recommend to someone going to "clip in" for the first time to set the release very low, (instructions included with the pedals) as long as you are staying connected under normal conditions (including standing) you're good to go.
