Comments about Lake CX175 Road Shoes:

I am a size US 7.5 Euro 40.5. Initially I purchased the size 41.5 because according to the chart it is US 7.5. When i tried the shoe on it was way too large. After returning the shoe and purchasing the 40.5 it fit as expected but the chart seems to be wrong because the 40.5 says it is a US 6.5 on the shoe

Comments about Lake CX175 Road Shoes:

I bought road shoes from several of the best shoe companies and paid a small fortune. They were all too tight in the toe box and I do not have particularly wide feet. The Sidi's were the best because they are very soft expandable leather fronts. But even they would leave me limping after a 50 mile ride. I bought the Lake shoes because they stated that they had a wider than "normal" toe box and I've never looked back. The MOST comfortable road shoes I've ever used. I bought several models to try and they were all just as comfortable.

Comments about Lake CX175 Road Shoes:

I am a 68 year old woman-dedicated road rider. I ride and race 20 mile to century distances on multi-day tours. These shoes have worked well so far. They do indeed have a wider toe box to accommodate my bunions painlessly. The soles are adequately stiff. For me I needed to order 1/2 size (1 cm) larger to get he best fit.

Comments about Lake CX175 Road Shoes:

Really liked the shoe untill the BOA mechanism on one of the shoes broke apart. I used these shoes for 3-4k miles and liked them. Looking at this shoe's reviews, many others have had similar issue.

Comments about Lake CX175 Road Shoes:

Shoes worked fine for about 6 months then started to loosen while riding. Recently the right shoe will not tighten. Back to my old pair of shoes with a ratchet style closure, I will never buy another shoe without a ratchet closure.

Good fit with a comfortable toe box. Reasonably stiff sole. BOA system is good for me. Flashy color increases my visibility on urban portion of my rides. It also matches my bike color. Cannot yet comment on durability.

Comments about Lake CX175 Road Shoes:

I can't comment on long term durability yet since I've only had the shoes a short while - a little short of a couple hundred miles at this point. However, right out of the box they were comfortable. I really like the leather construction, stiff sole and venting. I don't have a wide foot but I don't have a narrow one either (width D or so). These shoes have a nice rounded front that affords enough room in the toe box for my wigglies - some shoes just don't provide enough room! I wear a 10.5 - 11 US sized street shoe; I ordered a size 45 and I'd say that the length, and overall shoe size is spot on.

This is my first experience with BOA type fastening and I like it. They are certainly easy to put on and take off. While not infinitely adjustable, they certainly offer fine enough gradation in adjustment that I'd say if you can't make them to your liking in that way, then you're just being silly.

The tag line on the Lake box says: Focus On The Ride. I'd say that covers it. After my initial focusing on the shoes to see if I made a good decision I've not been thinking about my shoes - I'm focused on my ride.

Comments about Lake CX175 Road Shoes:

I did put a great deal of miles on these shoes for over 1 year, approximately 4000 miles. This morning the right BOA dial broke apart. Its a bit disappointing as the rest of teh shoe is still in really good shape.

Comments about Lake CX175 Road Shoes:

Not the lightest shoe. The bottom surface is smooth, so you can "fake it" and pedal without clipping easily if for a pedal stroke or two at a light, if you don't clip in right away. (Something you can do with MTB and some road shoes).

Does not come with a back plate for SPD 2-hole.

              Good value

              Like the BOA so far.

Comments about Lake CX175 Road Shoes:

The shoes appeared to be well-constructed, but the BOA dial broke off and could not be re-attached. Part of the plastic internal mechanism was broken, making it impossible to screw the dial back on. The only way that my mechanic could see to fix it was to unsew the shoe and replace the entire dial. I ended up buying new shoes. Other than that, the shoes run small (short) so I'd buy a size larger. Had a problem with numbness despite trying to tweak cleat position. New shoes fixed that problem. On the plus side, the soles seem to be plenty stiff for the money and the shoes are not horribly heavy, although there are lighter options for the money.
