From the moment you first put hand to brake hood, you'll know you can never go back. The Campagnolo Super Record Ultra-Shift 11-speed shifters are where the rubber meets the road, so to speak, and they don't disappoint. They are probably the most comfortable, easy to hold, ergonomic levers that have ever had the privilege of gracing our bicycle, and we can't recommend them highly enough. The hoods are sheathed in a Vari-Cushion rubber that feels better than just about any other material we've ever used, while the levers themselves have a graceful, anatomical carbon fiber curve that just seems to slip perfectly into the hand.
But it's not all about feel; these little works of carbon fiber art have a serious job to do. Shifting with the Super Record levers is nothing less than a revelation. Both the thumb lever (upshift) and the finger lever (downshift) depress smoothly and deliver an audible, satisfying click that lets you know in no uncertain terms that you've shifted gears, but without feeling clunky or unwieldy. Shifting just feels smooth and seamless, and there is almost no play in the lever throw, so you start shifting almost as soon as you start moving the lever. And then there's the hidden Campy super secret squirrel army weapon. The Super Record Ultra-Shift levers let you upshift five cogs with a single push of the thumb lever, or downshift three cogs using the finger lever. We've found this to be invaluable while climbing and descending, or when looking to get an extra jump on the bunch during a sprint.
