You don't need some fancy gadget shoes to get out there and ride. The Giro Women's Sage mountain bike shoes are a lot like the low top hiking shoes you wear all the time, but with a 2-bolt cleat mount in the sole. They have a rubberized outside with a pretty aggressive tread pattern to make walking easier on the bike, and a small nylon shank under the cleat mount to give you more power in your pedal stroke. The upper is soft, supple synthetic nubuck with a padded collar and tongue. They lace up for a near custom fit, and have a small, hardened bash guard around the toes. These are perfect for women' who like to get off the bike for a little hiking now and again, or who enjoy the benefits of clipless pedals, but don't want a full on ratchet and carbon fiber sole set up.

Comments about Giro Women's Sage Mountain Shoes - Closeout:
This was my first purchase of cycling shoes. I did not know that the sizing isn't the same as "normal" shoes. I always wear a 41, but in these I would need a 42. Looking at other reviews, this seems to be the norm.
Was this a gift?:
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
