Nashbar Matrix Gel Gloves
The hands are often an unsung element for on-the-bike comfort so give them a present with the Nashbar Matrix Gel Gloves. The strategically placed gel pads on the palm are a thing of beauty as there's no bulk at all to interfere with the feel of the bars while the pads' mesh covering provides just the right amount of grip when your tape or grips get slick from sweat or precipitation. And speaking of sweat, whisk away anything your brow (or nose for that matter) produces via a soft, microfiber wiping surface along the thumb.
  • Strategically placed low profile gel pads relieve pressure on the palm's sensitive areas
  • Synthetic palm is soft and durable
  • Easy on-off removal tab with Velcro closure for a secure, comfy fit
  • Microfiber wiping surface on thumb takes care of sweat on the brow or a drippy nose
Nashbar Matrix Gel Gloves
  • FABRIC Polyester blend back, Synthetic palm
  • WEATHERPROOF No
  • CLOSURE Velcro
  • PADDING Gel

Comments about Nashbar Matrix Gel Gloves:

Comfortable but small which makes the velcro tab just barely reach to connect. I suspect it will lose its ability to hold soon, since such a small part of the tab reaches its opposing connection strip. Appears to be a good product, but order large.

Comments about Nashbar Matrix Gel Gloves:

Size runs a bit large. Otherwise, they do what they are supposed to do: provide friction between sweaty hands and handlebars and cushion hands.

Comments about Nashbar Matrix Gel Gloves:

I ride about 100 miles a week in the summer on hilly and often uneven paved roads. As an older cyclist, I always appreciate well-constructed and padded gear, since my hands and tush seem to absorb most of the shocks of the road.

These gloves look great. The color is rich and bright and the Nashbar logo sticks out in low relief from the mesh fabric---actually a neat little design that sets it apart from other gloves. The microfiber thumb does a good job with sweat or wiping a lens before a ride. And the fit is just right---easy on and easy off.

The placement of the gel pads is just right, but there's hardly any gel. It seems to be an issue with most gloves these days. My own preference would be for these gloves to have twice as much padding. Even with double-wrapped handle bars, I still feel some discomfort on long rides. Still, the price is right and compared to the name brand gloves, they work every bit as well.

Comments about Nashbar Matrix Gel Gloves:

I was looking for a padded glove for riding. These really don't have any worthwhile padding. So I decided to use them as Kayaking gloves. When the gloves got wet, the blue dye in the gloves bled onto my hands.
