Diamondback Steilacoom RCX cyclocross bikes is probably one of the best values in CX performance out there. At its core, the bike is built around the phenomenal DBR CX Pro frame, constructed with fully butted 7005 alloy. The bike is stiff, lightweight, extremely durable and resistant to corrosion--a must when competing in wet, muddy conditions. The geometry and straight top tube are optimized to accommodate portaging, and the bike is easy to sling over your shoulder.
Shifting is handled by Shimano's excellent 105 10-speed group. 105 is descended from the pro-level Dura-Ace group, and it shows--not just aesthetically, but mechanically as well. Shifting is crisp and responsive, and the bombproof construction will stand up to even the toughest courses. An FSA Gossamer Pro Cross crankset serves up a 46/36T chainring combo that gives you plenty of gas on the flats, but makes climbing easy. Stopping is handled by a pair of Tektro CR 710 Cantilever brakes that deliver more powerful and well modulated braking performance, even in adverse weather conditions. Finally, the build is rounded off with a set of Equation CX23 Wide road tires, laced to a pair of sealed bearing cartridge hubs. A pair of Kenda Small Block 8 700x32c tires are perfect for racing or commuting, and offer up plenty of traction with low rolling resistance. DBR handlebars, stem and seatpost and a WTB Valcon saddle round out the build with some nice finishing touches that dial in the fit and comfort.
