Get ready for a blast from the future past. There was a time when clipless pedals were new, Greg LeMond was changing the game, and shoes were gettin' a little funky. Born of this time we call the 80's was the Nalini Olimpia road shoe. It's remarkably similar to the Nalini Bernard Hinault signature shoe, but without the palpable French attitude and a few more grams on the scale. The backbone of any shoe is the sole, and this one is made from stiffened, vented nylon with both 2- and 3-bolt drillouts. It's pretty stiff, and definitely pretty comfortable to wear on and off the bike. The color palette is bold, but feels at home in any era. The leather (yes, LEATHER) and mesh uppers are very comfortable and highly breathable. The closure system is pretty unique to its time. It's a lace up system for a near custom fit, covered over with a padded tongue cover. Maybe it's there to protect your shoes in case you need to start slinging round house kicks like Chuck Norris, we're not sure. But it definitely does look awesome.
