    Comments about Nashbar Headset Press:

Used this to install a headset in an older road bike I am restoring. I had a little trouble with the center shaft trying to spin when I started applying pressure to get the headset cups in position, but overall it worked fine. The price allowed me to justify buying the press instead of taking the bike to a shop.

      Comments about Nashbar Headset Press:

Used to install headset. I only do occasional work, so I don't know if it will hold up for a long time, but it seems rugged. Price was good compared to Park Tool similar item and this worked really well.

      Doesn't work with BBT 90.3

          Comments about Nashbar Headset Press:

This is a great tool for the money. I was informed by Nashbar customer service that it would work with the BBT 90.3 bottom bracket press cups, unfortunately the shaft is too big for the cups. I liked the press enough to keep it though.
FYI, you can use 1/2" all thread through a 1/2" copper pipe to make a pretty effective press tool for the BBT 90.3 cups.

Not compatible with Park BB30 tool

          Comments about Nashbar Headset Press:

Well-built, but didn't serve the purpose of pressing BB30 bearings with the bushings included in the Park BBT-30.3. Shaft diameter on the Nashbar tool is too large to accept the bushings. Shame, because the tool otherwise seems like a good alternative to the more expensive Park version.

              Comments about Nashbar Headset Press:

The tool worked great but I have an old bike with a very long head tube. As a result I had to knock out the spring pin that keeps the head from coming off to get extra travel. Once that was done it worked like a charm.
Should have bought this years ago and saved many expensive trips to my LBS for head set installation.
The tools is very well made, breaks down into an easy to store linear shape and includes a durable nylon pouch to keep it all together. It is far superior to a cobbled together set up of nuts, washers and threaded rod that I used earlier this year.

                Comments about Nashbar Headset Press:

Well, after a few more installs, I found the 15mm? wrench flats at the end of the shaft to prevent the shaft from turning while turning the handle. I find this tool to be shop level quality. May be too much in fact. It's too heavy and too rugged. There really is no need to employ steel in the reducer couplings since this is not really a high force application.

Bought this tool so I could put together my own bike frame up. Inexpensive but not a cheap tool. Very nice and does what it is supposed to do. I guess if you had a shop and were changing out headsets frequently you could splurge for the high end stuff but this fits my bill perfectly.

Works Perfect! I dont see how this press can be beat for the price. Took all of 10 minutes to unbox the press and and put a new headset into my frame. A+++
