The Cane Creek SCR-5 Brake Levers have Gum colored hoods look great, especially with a white saddle or white bar tape. Back in the day they always seemed to break down in the sun after a short period of time, now with better compounds these guys will last just as long as regular ones.
The SCR-5 levers are lightweight, high-performance aero levers designed to be used for special application bicycles--like climbing-specific racing bikes where lightweight is the goal and for updating brake levers on classic road bikes
The ergonomically designed lever hood with raised Cane Creek skinks and logos is soft and tacky, and conforms to the shape of the hand, yielding increased grip, greater comfort and reduced fatigue
Cold-forged 6061 aluminum alloy levers with high-impact resin brackets
I replaced the frame on a 1974 full Campy Parimount with a 1986 E. Merkx frame. Compared to riding the newer Brake/shifter hoods the old Campy break hoods were like riding razors under the hands. I had to have something wider and larger to hang on to. These brake levers were the answer. Very comfortable, well made and the bike still looks classic.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
