Comments about CatEye Strada Double Wireless Bike Computer:

I had a bit of difficulty setting the ID. It ended up just being a matter of holding the sensor button briefly - I was holding it too long - yet the instructions just say "hold and release". There is no recommendation for how long to hold it.

So, having finally figured that out, I discovered that the speed sensor is too bulky to fit downward between the left chain-stay and the spoke(magnet). It will have to stick straight up from the chain stay leaning in toward the spoke just slightly. This concerns me. Not only does the cadence sensor stick up from the chainstay ready to be knocked into the spokes and cause catastrophe, but now the speed sensor sticks up also. It all seems a bit precarious; less than ideal and certainly not as designed or recommended in the instructions.

As for the display unit, it rattles loosely unlike my wired Strada on my other bike. It is unneccesarily difficult to push it in/out of it's holder and once it clumsily snaps in there it is loose and rattly.

I had my hopes up for this being an improvement over my wired Strada and it simply is not. It is wireless, but at what cost?

Comments about CatEye Strada Double Wireless Bike Computer:

This computer is great when used with a trainer. Is easy to reset, from session to session, and provides good, clear readouts of time on trainer, current speed, average speed, etc. Initial set up was not real easy. My son managed to get the time set. Biggest complaint is the sending unit. It has an adjustable arm for the speed reader, which is great. would suggest the same type of adjustable arm would be great for the cadence reader. As is, its difficult to get the unit close enough to the cadence magnet for a reading, and not sure it will stay in position when actually riding on the road.

I have several bikes; road, mtn, cross, TT, touring and they each have a Cateye Strada Wireless computer on the bar.I now have the Double Wireless so I can use the trainer for the indoor season (when there is too much snow!!)Adding cadence with the regular info is all I need for consistent winter riding!!

Comments about CatEye Strada Double Wireless Bike Computer:

This device has all the features I wanted. It mounts quickly, and is pretty accurate. The stock "700x23C" settings agree with what I get from MapMyRide.
Downside is, it rattles in its mount. One must be careful with remedies as too "secure" keeps one from changing functions.
The sensor is also moved too easily, especially on rough roads. Occasionally, I need to stop and move the sensor back close to the crank arm.

I like the small size of this computer, it took me a couple tries to set it up initially because there is not a "back" button. I like that it will mount to the bars or the stem. Wireless is nice and seems to track well even on chipseal roads.

Comments about CatEye Strada Double Wireless Bike Computer:

This is my 2nd one of this specific Cateye cyclocomputer. I've always used Cateyes so it's hard to write an objective comparison. I've always been happy with them. My last Strada Double Wireless lasted over 5 years and through lots of miles and bad weather. Therefore, setting this one up was relatively easy. However, like all Cateye cyclocomputers the instructions are written in excessive detail in tiny, microfiche-like font, and the scrolling between different functions and buttons (at least to me) is a bit tedious. Don't be in a huge hurry to unpack this thing and slap it on your bike and head out for a quick ride at the end of the day. Plan to spend some time with it if it's your first one. The function and reliability are very good though. Worth it and good value for the price. If the display were bigger and could show more than 2 functions at once it would be even better. Battery life is very good. Good cyclocomputer for the price. You may find you have to use supplemental glue or a wrap of tape to hold the cadence magnet securely to the crank arm.

Comments about CatEye Strada Double Wireless Bike Computer:

Instructions didn't show how to mount on a Roubaix (sensor 180 degrees out from normal installation), but bike forums and contact from Cateye explained it. Stem mount works well for me, but might be small for some. Cadence will be useful in developing speed.

Comments about CatEye Strada Double Wireless Bike Computer:

The 400DW version is the older version, which does not allow you change the upper display between speed and cadence. Most of the other Strada computers allow you to change the upper display, so I'm not sure why CatEye didn't include the function on this one, but it's a deal breaker for me. Go with the 410DW version or any of the later models. Most all of them all you to cadence or speed for the upper display - just not this one.
