Comments about Blackburn EX-1 Expedition Rack:

It is a decent rack but not what I expected from Blackburn based on having had (and still have) older Blackburn racks. This one had much thicker (and uglier) bars than is needed , and no built in tab for rear reflector.

Will not fit my rear dropout eylets

Comments about Blackburn EX-1 Expedition Rack:

This rack does not seem to fit my rear dropouts. I have a Soma San Marcos steel frame sport touring bicycle with dual eyelets (for fender and rack) but the bottom ends of this rack have too much metal to align with either set of eyelets. I am considering grinding or filing some metal but don't want to compromise the rack.

Comments about Blackburn EX-1 Expedition Rack:

rack extends my daily range..with a trunk bag i can take more snacks..gives me someplace to put a jacket after ride warms up. this is the third blackburn rack i've bought and they have been bulletproof. unfortunately the bolts supplied were so cheap i smooshed out the hexheads on three just tightening them with the supplied allen wrench. had to go to a hardware store to buy better quality ones.

Comments about Blackburn EX-1 Expedition Rack:

I have been using this rack commuting for 4 years +. It is very durable (it's survived a crash or two), but the narrower spacing at the rack's rear stays will cause some panniers to flex inward toward the tire. I have had some pannier/wheel collisions because of this. As such, it is probably better used with a rack trunk or basket/milk crate or rigid/hard panniers instead of non-rigid panniers.
