Comments about Nashbar Handlebar Mounted Bracket:

Purchased to mount accessories on a motorcycle but this would be handy to mount a GPS or just about anything else (but not too heavy) on a 1" tube.

Comments about Nashbar Handlebar Mounted Bracket:

My handlebars are 1 inch to clamp which is 25.4 mm. The bars clamp to the stem at 1 inch but the part ya' hold is 21.5mm so there's 3.9 mm slop between the bar and the the bottle clamp but the specks for the bar is 1 inch which is 25.4 mm to the stem clamp. I've got examples of 3 mountain bike bars and they're all 1 inch to the stem clamp and 21.5 mm to the bar ya' hold.
Cool huhhh??? At least installation was a snap but I'm always pickin' up the handlebar mounting bracket off the ground. Don't think I'll bother screwin' the bottle cage to it though with a bottle. Bad 'nuff the way it is...

Comments about Nashbar Handlebar Mounted Bracket:

I used one of these brackets to mount a heavy headlight (Cat Eye EL320) by swapping the plastic bar for the headlight's mounting clip. With some imagination, one could mount almost anything with this bracket!

The metal clamp portion has small teeth on the inside, giving it extreme grip when tightened. After two weeks of use on rough streets, I haven't heard so much as a rattle from it. The clamp is only half an inch (12mm) wide, so it doesn't take up much space on crowded handlebars.

The only downside is that this bracket only works on tubes that are exactly one inch (25.4mm) in diameter. It may damage the finish on painted handlebars. If using this bracket on a frame tube, be careful not to crimp the tube by tightening too far.

Comments about Nashbar Handlebar Mounted Bracket:

I use my bike for commuting as well as really long weekend rides. The summers in SC are HOT and HUMID and hydration is a must. I carry two- 2 liter bottles on my frame and thanks to this adapter, a 20 ounce filled with my favorite endurance supplement on my handlebar. It should'nt
make any difference what lenth bar you use, as the clamp is only a 1/2 inch wide and the bottle cage rests on the inside. Complete installation took only 5 min., and once tightened it grabs like a vise thanks to the tooth like serrations on the clamps interior surface. It is lightweight and I have'nt noticed any changes in riding characteristics.
