    Comments about Nashbar Hytrel Socks:

I bought these in Large and they fit well over a sock in my size 43 shoes. They will keep rain out, but also keep sweat in and allow water running down your leg to get into the sock. On the whole they are way better than a sock alone.

I'm not sure about durability but I've used it a couple of times and no problem.

Assuming the sock will fit your feet, put a piece of plastic -- a bag works well -- over your inner sock at the heel and then use it to slide this sock over it. Easy peasy.

    Comments about Nashbar Hytrel Socks:

I ordered the largest size (L) and was not able to even get them on they were so small (my foot is men's 11). I had my wife try them on. She was able to get them on, but they were tight on her (she is woman's size 8).

Difficult to get on and off

    Comments about Nashbar Hytrel Socks:

Once on my feet, these did a great job of keeping my feet warm. That said, getting them on and off was a Herculean task. I'm a size 9 1/2 men's, and it's a struggle to get even the large socks past my ankle. Very little stretch at all. If you're bigger than 10 or 10 1/2, I'd probably pass on these.

Bought a Large for size 9-10 men's foot...there is little to no stretch to these booties...can't get them on. Large seems to be right for a size 6-7. If they fit, I bet they'd be a nice warm barrier. Order an xxl or so to get em to fit!

        Comments about Nashbar Hytrel Socks:

I ordered a small and wear size 6 women's. These are tight and difficult to get off if they are in any way wet. Once off you can't get them back on if wet. But they keep the foot warm in 40s temperature and fit nicely in the cycling shoe. Don't think they would be warm enough without booties in cold weather.

        Comments about Nashbar Hytrel Socks:

Wore them with standard socks when temperature was 20 degrees. Feet froze. 2nd time at 20 degrees wore them over wool socks. A bit too thick for my shoes. Feet froze, but can't say if the tight fit in my shoes was a contributing factor. When temperatures are over the upper 30's will try again. Do appear to be water resistant.

        Comments about Nashbar Hytrel Socks:

no comment on quality or durability, but size is tricky. I wear a 10 to 10.5 US, and about 44 Euro, the large in the Hytrel were too tight, once I squeezed into them. The are not form fitting, so were loose in some areas, and tight around toe box.

A nice base sock for cool weather riding. Sizing is a size off, but other than that, a very good sock. Good till temps drop below 25 degrees.

              Comments about Nashbar Hytrel Socks:

I bought these to extend the season w/ my Nashbar Ragster II sandals and they help. My only problem is that they are hard to get on. I'm a thinner guy & wear a size 10 1/2 shoe(43/44) so I went with a XL sock thinking they should easily fit. Trust me, it isn't easy to get these on. If I'm an XL w/ my shoe size, these are a no-go for anyone bigger than me. I can get them on but it takes some annoying effort. Once on, the socks seem to be nice, I guess. They are on the thin side w/ a thin neoprene exterior layer and an ultra thin/low fleece lining. I haven't used them in rain yet but have used them in cold and wind with decent comfort. Below 45, I use an extra layer of socks - on top. You will never fit a sock under them unless they are a super thin & slick liner type sock, like silk, maybe & good luck w/ that... For the price, I am moderately happy w/ the purchase but do not expect miracles. These aren't quite what I was expecting and are different that any other neoprene product I own...
