Comments about Nashbar Ragster II Cycling Sandals:

Great shoes for spinning class. I have developed neuromas on bottom of both my feet. I am very pleased to find these shoes that allow me to continue to spin because they do not squeeze my feet! I wear socks with them so they are pretty comfortable.

Wanted to buy a pair of sandals for my Hawaii trip(cycling in Kona)The instructions were poor Showed to lift the insole to install the cleat plates. WRONG the insole was glued down Had to call tech support to find out plates were already installed at the factory. FIX INSTRUCTIONS. Sandals are ok but not great. Insole is hard and has a pattern you can feel through your socks. I will install gel inserts and live with it.

Comments about Nashbar Ragster II Cycling Sandals:

First I am completely happy I got these for summer time casual tour riding (used them on a 700 mile tour - no problems)

My one complaint is cutting out the center to attach the cleats it looks like the sole started to separate I put some shoe glue in there for preventative maintenance.

They will not replace my regular bike shoes for fast rides. I did compare them to a friend's shimano sandal and I really like the way there is protection for the toes up front

Comments about Nashbar Ragster II Cycling Sandals:

I don't use the clip on capability. They are comfortable and bought to replace a pair of worn out Teva sandals which have been discontinued. They cost less than half of the other Teva Sandals available today. So far, I use them for walking, not biking. The ankle strap cuts into my ankle if I don't use a band aid, but that has happenned with other sandals as well. They look good and seem to be durable. I will buy another pair when the time comes.

          like these

          About Me Commuter

          Pros

          • Doesn't Absorb Much Water
          • Stiff sole
          • Very adjustable

          Cons

          • Footbed Uncomfy At First

          Best Uses

          • Commuting/City

Comments about Nashbar Ragster II Cycling Sandals:

As others have mentioned, the footbed is covered with "pads", but the pads also have tiny bumps (1 mm diameter), usually 1 or 2 bumps per pad. It's these bumps that feel like you have coarse sand in the sandals. I spent an hour cutting off the bumps using flush-cutting side cutters. You wouldn't be able to do it with regular side cutters; they have to be true flush-cutting ones. (google it, if you don't know what I mean)

          After that, they're fairly comfy.

I wear a size 10.5 - 11 US men's jogging shoe, and I bought the size 45/46. They're a bit too big, but if I ever wear socks with the sandals, there'll be plenty of room. There's enough adjustment range in the straps so that I can snug them up despite them being a bit big. To those people who say the straps are too short, you bought a size too small!

Be careful with online sizing charts. There's a difference between US sizes and UK sizes.

I like that these sandals are plasticky, so they shouldn't absorb much water or sweat. That's one of the main reasons I bought them. I didn't want to use my Keen Newports for daily commuting because the webbing stays wet all day.

About weight: they weigh about the same as Keen Newports. Not noticeable at all, to me. But then I wore Doc Martens sandals for 10 yrs and those were a lot heavier.

I agree with others that the pale gray footbed isn't the best colour for a footbed, but oh well, these are for function, not style.

I really like the stiff soles, yet they're perfectly comfy when walking around before/after biking.

I'd give these 5 stars if they fixed the bumpy footbed.
