Let me preface this by saying that had I received the part displayed in the picture, I would have been more than satisfied with the cost of these hangers.
I have a nashbar alloy road frame for which i was trying to get a new hanger for. I check this page and was happy to see the exact hanger I needed for less than i was expecting to pay. The one displayed in the picture was the exact unique hanger that would fit the cutout on my rear dropout. Now when you order from the website, it gives you two options: integrated carbon frame hanger, or road frame hanger. Tried to order the hanger for the nashbar road frame from Nashbar and they sent me the incorrect hanger (one completely different than the hanger displayed in the picture. I thought, "Maybe I selected the wrong one, even though I don't have a carbon frame." Also note that I am a mechanic and shop manager so its not like I am clueless.
So I end up contacting the online customer support and they tell me that the hanger in the picture cannot even be ordered from the website and that I would have to directly call Nashbar and put in a small part order. My first question was "Why even have a picture of a product on your website attached to a completely different item? Why even show the picture if I cant order that exact one from the website?" The rep gave me the run around with answers that never made any sense as to why they would do that, but whatever. I'll call the service line and order it from them.
Well I end up calling customer service and they transfer me between 3-4 different people and end up telling me that I simply ordered the wrong hanger. Keep in mind I've told them the exact Nashbar brand frame that I have and also mention that the hanger in the picture is the exact one i need to each of these reps. I end up paying for another hanger, a little frustrated but happy that I can finally get my bike ready to ride.
Cut to a week later when the hanger arrives. Another completely different hanger than the one in the picture. So here I am now about to order the CORRECT hanger from a completely different company because Nashbar reps apparently cannot figure out how to supply the correct parts needed for their own products.
TLDR wanted to order the hanger in picture, ended up wasting money on two hangers completely different from the one in picture despite being helped by several customer service reps.
Was this a gift?:
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
