Comments about Nashbar Carbon 1-in Threaded Road Fork:

I got this for my 1990 Miyata CT3000 carbon bike to replace the aluminum fork. I like the improved ride (way better than I hoped it would be) and LOVE the way it looks on the bike. It is a bit heavy but at this price point I don't see that as a problem.

I purchased this to replace an old chrome fork on one of my older bikes. It was a perfect fit. It looks great. It rides nice. No complaints and I may be getting another for a different bike.

I purchased the fork to fit a 979 Vitus. LBS installed the fork and it looks and rides great! The fork gobbles up road vibrations. I cannot be happier.

I replaced the aluminum fork on my '94 Specialized Epic carbon road bike. The ride quality is transformed. Don't know why I waited so long.

Comments about Nashbar Carbon 1-in Threaded Road Fork:

My vintage Trek 2100 experienced a fork failure after a front inpact with another rider. I was hesitant to purchase this fork and waited for a sale. Well, that was time wasted. The fork is perfect. It is comes in several grams lighter than my stock fork and provides a smoother ride. It also looks awesome on this old carbon bike. I cut the larger size to be an exact fit and used orginal bearings, lockrings, and bottom bearing coupler which I removed from the old fork. White Lith grease and I'm good to go.

Comments about Nashbar Carbon 1-in Threaded Road Fork:

I measured my original fork stem on a Trek 1220 in inches than used my phone app calculator to convert to mm. Than I picked the size that matched. My rough measurement was about 1/4 in off but all I had to do is take off two grooved spacer washers. I do not recommend installing these yourself, especially if you do not have thin wrenches, bearing removal and install tool, and a maintenance stand. the bike shop charged me $15 to install. do not try this if you do not have the right tools! after installed I was pleased with the extra performance they add to my ride. One problem I ran into was the front break nut was not long enough to thread the bolt because the new forks are wider. I would recommend buying these and having them professionally installed.

Good value for the money. Not easy to find these anymore. But it has given my old Cannondale a new lease of life after discovering cracks in the original forks. Also bought the alloy spacer kit which saved me having to cut the stem shorter. Had to remove some paint from the stem where the bottom bearing race is pushed in place but no big deal. Recommended.

Upgraded the fork on my old schwinn aluminum. Made the bike handle and ride like a new bike. Very stable and yet handles and steers effortlessly. It is way stiffer than the chromoly fork that came out, and rides ultra smooth on all road conditions. Also is super stabile on rollers and does not flex and bounce like the chromoly one. About 2/3 the weight of the old one. Be sure to order the same length steer tube and you are set.
