Comments about Nashbar Carbon 1-in Threaded Road Fork:

I have a vintage late 80's bike I still use and wanted to upgrade the ride a bit and save some weight. Styling is perfect as it matches the classic fork look, fit was perfect although keep in mind this is ISO not JIS. I went with a very stiff wheelset so upgrading to carbon bars and fork brought the old steely bike back to its nice smooth ride and stiffer for turns so love it. I was hoping to save about 1/2 lb, but only got 1/4 lb so thinking they could have lightened up the steel threaded tube a bit. Otherwise, great construction and good performance make it as advertised.

Comments about Nashbar Carbon 1-in Threaded Road Fork:

Fit, finish, quality, and appearance are excellent.
Best part is riding. I thought I was riding a different bike. (installed on 1989 Trek 1000 Aluminum) expected modest improvement in handling and performance, received dramatic improvement.
I have a full carbon Trek 5200. the 1000 always rode hard, it is a pleasure now. The bike is quieter. It is a different bike, a much better one. Took a gamble on this fork. big payoff-happy.

My daughter wanted to get into tri's. Got an older Trek 2300 cheap but it had an aluminum fork. Replaced it with this. Other than having to trim to length (make sure you buy the shortest that will work or you'll not have enough threads), it was pull off the old, swap in the new.

Replaced the aluminum fork on a 1994 Specialized Epic Pro. The color is a perfect match. Make sure you order a new headset with the new fork. Chances are the old headset will not fit.

        • The Nubs On The Fork Tips

        Best Uses

Comments about Nashbar Carbon 1-in Threaded Road Fork:

This was perfect for what I had to do. I was repacing a 35+ year old aluminum screwed and glued Alan round blade fork w/ Campy headset. To get the race seated I had to first shave down the joint between the steering tube and the crown, and then further shave down the actual seat for the race. After that it was a pefect fit. Not a fan of the "safety" nubs on fork tips - makes me unscrew my quick release further to remove the wheel - but I understand the liability issues without them.

Comments about Nashbar Carbon 1-in Threaded Road Fork:

Been handling my daily commute like A CHAMP. Almost 500 miles and looking forward to many more. Feels good, solid and trustworthy. The steerer length is perfect and I have zero complaints on that rake. Very glad and thankful to have found this Carbon fiber fork in a threaded 1". Handles wheelies just fine too, I tend to set it down hard sometimes, no fear. Feeling some reliability and less weight compared to the Chr-Mo forks of my past.

            Thanks a ton!

Comments about Nashbar Carbon 1-in Threaded Road Fork:

I bought this to replace an aluminum fork on an old bike of mine with strong sentimental value. It was my first ever race bike, but I was afraid to ride it any longer with the 28 year old aluminum fork on the front. It was just too risky. I spec'd this fork to suit a slightly more relaxed position on the bike and it fit perfectly with the spacers, stem and bar that I bought from Nashbar at the same time! The finish on the fork is fabulous. It's a definite upgrade for most any threaded stem bike you'd like to install it on.

I got this for my 1990 Miyata CT3000 carbon bike to replace the aluminum fork. I like the improved ride (way better than I hoped it would be) and LOVE the way it looks on the bike. It is a bit heavy but at this price point I don't see that as a problem.
