Replaced the stock aluminum with this CF post on sale plus 20% off. Only a few hundred miles on it due to the season but so far I find nothing to not be satisfied with.

What my plan was to have a smoother ride, a great addition/part to my nashbar single speed frame built is a carbon seatpost, nashbar carbon seatpost was at a price I couldn't pass up, now the bike is smoother, I feel I can ride longer than with an alloy seatpost.

Comments about Nashbar Carbon Fiber Seatpost:

I had trouble getting my saddle far enough forward, The Nashbar zero offset carbon seat post was the perfect solution. It was an easy installation, the post is a little long but I didn't want to take the saw to it without some research. I found the adjustments to be very easy. The front bolt was tight so I treated it like a thumb bolt and used the back bolt to do the tightening. After about four adjustments perfection was achieved.

Comments about Nashbar Carbon Fiber Seatpost:

A low price upgrade to an aluminum road bike that works well. I love the seat mount with its ability to infinetly adjust the nose up/down to my liking. If you're an extreme weight weenie and racer look to spend more money on something else. If you're looking to upgrade a bit without breaking the bank, this is your deal.

Comments about Nashbar Carbon Fiber Seatpost:

The 0-offest offered by this post was the selling point and with that I am completely satisfied. It allowed me to move the saddle forward enough that the seating now works without effort.

I found the dual bolt adjustment clumsy and time consuming compared to the single bolt mechanism of the OEM seat post. Using a multi-wrench hex set will test your patience because the bolts do not angle off the seat post and are so tight to it that there is no room for the tool, much less fingers. EVERY adjustment (angle or up-back) now requires the adjustment to TWO (difficult to access) bolts - with results seemingly no better than the single bolt version.

Also, for most everyone with a reasonably correct bike frame size - the amount of composite post extending from the frame is so little (3-5") that any expectation of a softer ride from the elasticity of the composite post is irrational; It is the same ride as alloy!

Still, the seat post is very well made, a good value, and the 0-offest feature made it (for me) a worthwhile purchase. I recommend it.

Comments about Nashbar Carbon Fiber Seatpost:

I purchased Nashbar's Carbon Fiber seatpost to replace the one I was using on my road bike.

I wound up deciding to use the CF post from my 'cross bike in my road bike and putting this one on the 'cross bike (which pulls quadruple-duty: gravel racing, 'cross, commuting, and touring). It's a little heavier than the one that came with the 'cross bike, but a better fit for the geometry of that bike.

Installation of the seatpost itself was completely painless. This post is one diameter in a straight run right up to the clamp, which means it just drops right in. I added a little of the Finish Line's CF-grip gel (also purchased from Nashbar), tightened the collar, and it was good to go.

Installing the saddle, on the other hand, was a little more complicated. It's really a matter of preference, but I'm a one-bolt kind of guy. On the upside, the two-bolt design of the saddle clamp on this guy allows for very precise angular adjustments. On the other hand, it makes saddling up a little fiddlier than I prefer.

That said, there are some who really prefer the two-bolt design, and if you're in that camp, you can't go wrong with this seatpost.

In terms of performance, Nashbar's CF seatpost is doing a fantastic job. Obviously, it holds the saddle up -- its most important function. It also kills any potential road buzz (my 'cross frame is aluminum) without feeling "noodly." It also looks sharp -- my 'cross bike is black with a bit of silver here and there, so it fits right in.

In short: If you're a super-fit racer who has no weight left to lose, you can probably shave off a few grams by choosing a different CF seatpost. On the other hand, if you can afford to take even a few grams off the rider, or if you're more into touring or commuting and you're really not worried about a few piddly grams here and there, Nashbar's CF seatpost is a great choice.
