Comments about Nashbar Cage All Purpose Mountain Bike Pedals:

Fit the bill for a low cost pedal replacement. Don't expect much more. The size of the pedal is smaller than my factory pedals. Almost seems like a junior size.

A lot of pedal have a cutout specifically so you can get a socket in to remove the spindle and adjust them. These don't, and I've bought Nashbar pedals before, and they always need adjusted.

Comments about Nashbar Cage All Purpose Mountain Bike Pedals:

These pedals are a bargain . . . if you have a department store bike or child's bike with forged cranks. Otherwise, they won't work. They have 1/2" shafts. Serious bikes have machined alloy cranks and require pedals with 9/16" shafts.

they roll pretty rough and can't be openned for serving or adjusting. They are however pretty nice and inexpensive, so they should be considered as disposable pedals after a couple of years

Comments about Nashbar Cage All Purpose Mountain Bike Pedals:

Out of the box, these pedals looked nice but the spindles would barely spin and as another reviewer said felt like it had rocks for bearings. It must be either improper assembly or mismatched parts to work this poorly. I use them for a short 2 mile commute so I'll just live with them for now.

Comments about Nashbar Cage All Purpose Mountain Bike Pedals:

I guess for about $10 these are O.K. pedals, but they don't spin smoothly and are very stiff. The included reflectors needed to be attached using very small screws and washers, which was not easy.
These will probably loosen up as they're ridden, but if you want smooth-spinning pedals I would order a different model.
