Comments about Nashbar Rigid 26-in. Mountain Bike Fork:

While I am very happy with the fork it would bike nice if the steerer tube was approximately three - inches taller.
Otherwise, it is a great fork. Also, it is at a great price.

Comments about Nashbar Rigid 26-in. Mountain Bike Fork:

Let me preface by saying I've only taken this fork out once. It seems solidly build and is a fairly comfy rigid fork. The only things I don't like about it are that its a bit heavy and there's no disc only option. Works great for my commuter with 80mm of spacers to get the bars nice and high

I have 3 of these forks for my commuter bikes. Soak up road vibrations better than aluminum. I recently installed this with a 1000w electric front hub motor before going for a 50 mile commute. It worked very well. I didn't have to worry about the fork and could focus on the road.

Comments about Nashbar Rigid 26-in. Mountain Bike Fork:

I'm using the fork on a old mountain bike I'm converting into a cruiser with ape hangers and banana seat. This fork is perfect for my application. It appears to be well made and I expect it to be durable. This fork would also fit the bill for rigid conversions. It should weigh less than almost all suspension forks, although it's not a light fork. It weighs quite a bit more than a Surly 1x1 fork and considerably more than a Salsa a Chro-Moto fork. The paint is kind of a satin black, so don't expect a nice glossy paint job. All in all, you'd be hard pressed to find a better rigid fork for the money.

      Went rigid on a budget

Comments about Nashbar Rigid 26-in. Mountain Bike Fork:

Converted my old Azonic DS-1 to a singlespeed and now fully rigid. Use it mostly as just a commuter, but dropping the old Judy fork and putting this on lightened it up a lot, and made for a simpler, highly responsive bike. Lots of clearence for a 29er wheel, but of course, that would throw off the geomerty, so i'm leaving it 26.

Comments about Nashbar Rigid 26-in. Mountain Bike Fork:

Bought an old GF mtb to set up as a winter commuter. Swapped out stock solo air Manitou fork for this because it cost less than seals and a rebuild for the other fork. Wanted both brake mounts, currently it's rim brake, but may switch to disc someday. Considerably ligher than the suspension fork. Only issue is the matte paint. To me the picture looks like gloss. No big deal at all, just think the gloss paint would look better with my bike.

Comments about Nashbar Rigid 26-in. Mountain Bike Fork:

I purchased this fork to replace the low end suspension fork that came stock on my mountain bike. Instead of spending big money on a better suspension fork I simply decided to forego suspension altogether and purchase this fork. I ride this bike on mostly hard pack single track with somewhat prevalent tree roots and occasional small rock gardens. I don't think I'll be attacking any seriously technical terrain with this setup, however, on your average cross country trail it seems to handle it just fine. I like the option of running vbrakes or disc, I currently have this setup for vbrakes and it works well. I caught this on a sale with free shipping and it cost half the price of a surly. I did have to take off quite a bit of material to face up the bearing surface for the crown race, but other than that setup was a breeze. If I were to build another rigid bike, I would consider purchasing this product again.

Comments about Nashbar Rigid 26-in. Mountain Bike Fork:

Purchased to replace the heavier rigid fork on my SS 29er. This gets used for everything from commuting to singletrack. Fork is about 9 oz. lighter than what was replaced, better finished, and rides more comfortably in all conditions other than drops, as it is more rigid than the stock fork - so i would expect that.

Fits a 29" wheel perfectly. Might look a little tall on a 26" wheel. I wanted a fork with vbrake mounts in order to mount a small rack, although I run disc brakes. This fits the bill nicely.

Yes, there are lighter forks out there from Surly, etc. - but they are twice the money.

I will be purchasing a second fork for my daughter's commute bike. This is a great all-around deal.

As long as you use a disc brake a 29er wheel fits perfectly in this fork with tons of clearance. Only downside is that this thing is a brick.

Really happy with this rigid, looks great and the weight does not really bother me, way lighter than my Rockshox solo air. Just want to have a single speed rigid bike set up for town and partial dirt trail with the family. I removed the stud for cantilever/v-brake and it looked much better. Thanks Nashbar for a simple rigid and affordable fork.
