Comments about Nashbar Mountain Bike Handlebar:

Purchased to replace my new bike's riser bar. I worried that the low price might indicate a cheap and cheap looking handlebar. Not to worry! Other reviewers gave it a clear thumbs up and they were right. Swapping out the handlebars was easy. The only downside with the swap is that things are a bit more cramped on the new handlebar since the riser bar was considerably wider.

Comments about Nashbar Mountain Bike Handlebar:

Quite pleased by the straighter/flatter quality (main purpose of order), but wow, VERY pleased when I confirmed that I shaved 282g/.63 lbs by upgrading from the 444g bars that had been on my Cannondale H400 hybrid to these fine 162g bars from Nashbar. SUPER!!!

Comments about Nashbar Mountain Bike Handlebar:

I'm doing a lightweight mountain build for a petite young lady. Given her size, most current mountain bars are huge overkill -- way too wide and unnecessarily heavy. These look stunning on my 13" frame 26er XC build, and are proportionally correct.

If you're doing huge drops, weigh 250 lbs and have a seven-foot wingspan, you'll probably want to look elsewhere. For my purpose, they work superbly.

They would also be the ticket for a flat-bar road bike, hybrid, or street fighter. They would be the ticket to shave some weight off a youth bike -- ever notice how many kid's bikes weigh almost as much as their adult counterparts?

These are excellent value as long as you know what to expect.

Comments about Nashbar Mountain Bike Handlebar:

I bought the bar to replace a steel bar that was slightly a riser bar. I ended up not using this bar because I came to like the riser option, however after a short internet search I found that it is difficult to find a 25.4 mm riser bar in alloy, which was what I hoped this bar would do. I won't use it as the bike I bought it for is substantially heavy to begin with and it won't matter much in the long run. I felt that this bar was a bit narrow, as well, but know that I will eventually use it in a flat bar road bike scenario, where it should excel.

Comments about Nashbar Mountain Bike Handlebar:

I have a really nice '88 Peugeot "Canyon Express" Mountain bike (Salmon color) used mainly for daily 25-35 mile rides on the Phoenix canal system. The bike weighs 27.4 lbs (Tange 1 tubes). The only heavier-than-necessary part was the cro-mo handlebar that weighed just shy of 2.0 lbs. The Nashbar bar reduced the front end weight significantly. You can feel the front end is livelier and steers with less effort. Exceptionally good upgrade and price. THANKS AGAIN Nashbar.
