I have yet to cycle on these bad boys, but for mounting purposes alone they deserve 5 stars, never have I ever mounted a road tire with such ease, and compared to my previous tires these feel more durable.

I got around 3000 miles on my first set of tires. I do most of the cycling on rails to trails which are paved.I was very happy with the tires. I bought two more sets.

Comments about Nashbar Prima 2 Plus Road Tire:

This is my third review of the Prima 2 plus tire posted over the last several years but my experience remains the same--Excellent. I have used them exclusively for multiple years and have never had a bad experience. I currently have a size 700 X 23 on the rear of my bike with just over 4000 miles on it. No blemishes yet but I usually get about 4500 miles on a rear 2 plus so ordered again. My front 2 plus 700 X 25 now has over 16,000 miles on it and still no blemishes, cracks, or other issues. There are lighter tires out there but nothing I could find to match the quality and durability of these tires for anything near the price. (I mostly ride the Blue Ridge Parkway which has good quality smooth pavement and my weight ranges between 170 and 180 so somewhat lighter tire stress than in many other areas, or for other riders, however, I still think the consistent durability of well over 4000 miles per tire is excellent. The protective Kevlar belt has also made punctures a non-issue. I can't believe there is a better tire value anywhere for the avid recreational cyclist.

Comments about Nashbar Prima 2 Plus Road Tire:

Dont know where the other reviews are coming from. I can tell you the tires is thin, looks flimsy, nowhere close in quality and construction as a Vittoria Zaffiro entry level tire or a Hutchinson of similar spec and price.

I got 4 tires, sent them back using the 7.00 return shipping label. Tires are good if you are going to sell your bike or for goofing around town just a few miles.

          No, I do not recommend.

This is an excellent basic road tire at a great price. I'm now a casual rider after having done long distance riding and coaching a high school cycling team. I've yet to be displeased with a Bike Nashbar product.

Comments about Nashbar Prima 2 Plus Road Tire:

I bought the Prima 2 Plus only because Michelin did not have my tire size at Nashbar and Performance Bike. Compared ratings on the Prima 2 Plus vs. Forte LCR. Chose the Prima due to higher rating. I now have about just over 100 miles on these Prima's and it is a great value for the buck. Rolling resistance is minimal, cornering is great (thus far, tested on dry weather). I am amazed with the performance it offers. These will be my daily to use.

Comments about Nashbar Prima 2 Plus Road Tire:

Normally when you need a training tire that you are going to put many miles of abuse and wear you don't want to spend much, that made me experiment with different tire brands until I came across the Nashbar Prima 2 which I found to be best suitable tires in my case after I have been using these tires for the past 5 years on my training bicycle. So I have experienced the use of these for a long time now: I only recall of a flat going over broken glass when the tire was pretty worn out, being that the case I put them on my racing bike for the past 6 months, yes they are heavy for racing but there's nothing like the peace of mind when it comes to getting flats, I race them at 125 lbs of air pressure in back and 120 lbs front which is much higher of the recommended tire pressure to reduce rolling resistance and by doing so I haven't felt much of a difference at the races from the "brand tires".
I get around 1500+/- miles on them considering that I am not your common cyclist: sprinter, tall and heavy: 225 lbs. I have felt bad sometimes in the past to see some of the guys that have been training hard for a race doing great at a race and getting a flat pretty close to the end of the race. If you are not that picky about weight and want a reliable easy to mount tire these are for you.
I gave these a "4 stars" because of the weight, but if you keep the recommended air pressure constantly and you weight less than me, you should be able to get many more miles out of the tires like some of my friends do.
I highly recommend these if you are on a budget and don't want flats and ease to mount tires.
