Comments about Nashbar Steel Toe Clips:

I like these since I can bend them to fit my size 14 Keenes which I wear for year-round commuting. They will rust after awhile, so you may want to spray them with lacquer to help them last longer. They could benefit from a spacer if you have larger feet.

Smaller than Wellgo clips once sold here

Comments about Nashbar Steel Toe Clips:

Nashbar used to sell toe clips made by Wellgo. I will be comparing these to the toe clips made by Wellgo. The ones being reviewed have no brand name but they were made in Taiwan. They are sold as "Medium/Large" but they are smaller than the toe clips made by Wellgo. This matters to me because I wear shoes which are tall and wide. Also these toe clips have only one slot for the strap; the toe clips made by Wellgo had two slots.

Comments about Nashbar Steel Toe Clips:

They are a good value. However, be prepared to spend some time installing as the hardware and room to work is quite small. I'd also suggest using lock tite (blue kind). And you might want to remember buying straps as these do not come with them. I felt so very retro after using but am hoping to gain effeciency to make up for lack of training for Katy Trail....

I use it everyday. It should come with set, not just the clips by itself.

I didn't want to spend the money on new pedals and shoes yet so I went for these. I've never liked the black plastic kind...they look bad. These are completely functional, look great, and at the price you can't do better. Highly recommend if you need to keep your feet in place but aren't ready for clips.

A bit short for 10.5 shoe size

Comments about Nashbar Steel Toe Clips:

I bought those clips to replace the plastic clips I used so far. I did not use the screws the pedals came with. Instead I used the very fine working screw and plastic anchors the plastic clips were attached with. I like that I could shape the clips to not pinch my toes. Plastic clips cannot be shaped. I did not like that they really feel to short. I just added a spacer of about 3 mm. Should be better now, but I fear another 3 mm would be best. All in all, if you have shoe size 9, the y will work.

Comments about Nashbar Steel Toe Clips:

I used these on a long rail-trail ride because I didn't want to gum up my Speedplay pedals with trail dust. Make sure to get the bolts extra tight, because I lost two of them in the first 20 miles. They are difficult to get your feet in to quickly, but once you're going they are almost as efficient as clipless pedals. I used the Nashbar ATB straps with these. Make sure to get the straps tight, or your toes will go numb from jamming your feet into the front of the clips. You may want to try bending the clips to match the shape of your shoes. All things considered, they're not a bad product for what they are.
