Comments about Profile Design Stryke Water Bottle Cage:

I ran over a speed bump and my water bottle fell out. I am going to put a few thin strips of grip tape on the inside of this cage to hopefully make it grip the bottle better. I actually have two of these, a black and a blue one. The blue one seems to be made out of a softer plastic and is more durable.

Comments about Profile Design Stryke Water Bottle Cage:

I've been using Profile Stryke cages with Camelback bottles since 2006/7(?) for commuting including dirt/gravel roads, group rides, some competition, and have installed them on my kids bike without issue. Do NOT use them on MTB's as they will not hold your bottle for very long. Well, all was good until a week ago when I discovered a crack on the forward mounted cage of my CAAD10. It has been on various frames so perhaps I overtorqued during installation? Regardless, it was still being used, I just happen to find a crack at the mount after noticing it was getting a little weak, and ended up removing it as a precaution. I initially thought is was just due to old age fatigue...until taking a closer look.

I was just getting ready to order two more when I noticed all the negative reviews from recent posters. Not sure if Profile switched manufacturer's or material, but I will definitely keep an eye on the new ones.

I'm all about quality pieces but simply cannot justify the ridiculous price of carbon cages, especially those with a label, added with the fact that there's no 'give' to carbon cages and can be a pain to use.

You can buy 12 of these at the price of some carbon cages...

I've also mounted these on other things such as lawn tractors!

Comments about Profile Design Stryke Water Bottle Cage:

Its hard to find a yellow bottle cage in a sleek design. I got these for my Black & Yellow Trek Madone and took off the logos with acetone, so they are all yellow. They make the bike look better than carbon cages that cost 6 times as much. One of mine did crack after a year or so, but it still holds a water bottle. I figure at this price, I can afford to buy a few spares.

Don't even think about buying these. I purchased two, attached them, and within a week both had broken at the exact same spot. They are unsightly, cheaply made, and you will end up returning them when they break.

            Seriously, just don't do it.

Comments about Profile Design Stryke Water Bottle Cage:

Lasted a month or so when the top rib snapped unexpectedly, it still held my bottle okay though since it was mounted vertically. Short while after, the bottom rib broke and sent my water bottle tumbling on the ground. Second cage broke all at once resulting in the same tumbling. On the plus side, my water bottle has proven very durable! These cages not so much, they snap very easily. I've given it enough chances, looking elsewhere.

Comments about Profile Design Stryke Water Bottle Cage:

If you can't afford carbon cages, these are a great option for a nice looking, fairly light plastic cage, but I have snapped three cages, my wife has snapped one, and a friend has snapped two. Time for something stronger.

Comments about Profile Design Stryke Water Bottle Cage:

Good bottle cage but be careful of clearance. Got them for my 19" HT 29er with slope top tube. With both cages mounted, very crowded look plus restricted access to seat tube cage. Provides snug hold on bottles but plastic seems susceptible to breaking under heavy pressure and slippery when wet.
