          Comments about Topeak Supertourist Rack:

Very well make touring rack. I got a new bike with disc brakes and discovered that none of the racks I tried worked until I got this one. I have done bike touring in the past and some sort of tour is in this bikes future so finding a rack that would fit around the disc brakes was important. The rack is well made and has a good load capacity. Rack mounting is pretty flexible, this rack should fit most bikes, especially if your frame has braze-ons for the upper mounts.

            Comments about Topeak Supertourist Rack:

I bought this primarily to go with Topeak's MTX bag which can be easily and quickly attached to or removed from the rack. This is a great feature if you need to leave your bike and want to haul your gear with you. Also, my bike has disc brakes and the rack has enough clearance from the frame to add fenders.

                Comments about Topeak Supertourist Rack:

This rack is great! I have had mine for several years now and after much abuse, it finally broke. Since I don't have a car, I have loaded this rack with all kinds of things for which it was not designed. I also put a lot of wear and tear on it just commuting to work every day. In addition, I have completed a number of tours with it. Last year, I rode across Texas. This year I did a tour of the Hill Country that involved carrying heavy loads along unimproved roads.

The rack finally broke in three places, and yet it was STILL functioning. I got another one just like it!

                  Comments about Topeak Supertourist Rack:

I first purchased panniers (for my winter commute) and then realized the lower mounting point of the panniers would not accept the typical v at the lower mounting point of the of bike racks I looked at, I found this rack on Nashbar and realized it would work with my panniers.
The only reason I did not give it five stars is the lower rail is proud of the upper rail about 1/2" and if the upper rail is used for the panniers I have, it tends to stress the mounting points of my particular panniers due to the their ridged "backbone"

                    Comments about Topeak Supertourist Rack:

I use this on my commuter and it works very well. I have Ortlieb panniers and they fit on the lower side bars perfectly; not sticking above the top plate. So, should I wish to put something on top, it wouldn't be a problem. I've had it for a while, though I've only recently been commuting much. It has held up well and is plenty sturdy. I imagine it would work very well for touring, too.

                      Comments about Topeak Supertourist Rack:

Bought this rack for my new Kona Mahuna w/ a 19"frame. The bike has 29"tires(awesome)that came stock with the 2.2"width. My point is the rack clears all that. I have been using the bike for both offroad trail riding as well as long haul paved and gravel roads.
The rack has many different areas to mount your gear. I purchased a trunk bag and the individual paniers, and this rack has enough attachment options for all of this.
Built tough and doesnt seem to slow me down, even for the 29mile race I'm training for.
Installation was really easy and the design looks great!

I have long been a fan of Topeak products and got this for my Giant Yukon 26 inch mountain bike. As expected it was just as easy to put on as the rest of their product line. Coupled with the Topeak rack bag that slides in the groove and clicks in place I feel confident this will be just the ticket for Adventure racing and search and rescue operations
