Compared to the shimano pads, they seem less thick, potentially compromising their longevity. You can beat the price though, so I thought I would give them a shot. One pair squeaks when I break, but that could be due to their new-ness or the fact that I also installed new wheels. I feel like the squeal is decreasing with every ride.
I replaced the rear Shimano pads on my Specialized road bike with these. The friction and, hence, braking performance was very poor. So, I cleaned my aluminum rim braking surfaces and scrubbed the pads with light sandpaper. No help. I just can't get them to perform and will be replacing those already installed and throwing away the set I was going to install on the front.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
