This crank has performed flawlessly in a 1X9 system on a Kona Honzo. Where else but Nashbar can one procure a quality crankset for the price of the outer ring on an "S" brand product.

Comments about Nashbar MT2 Mountain Bike Crankset:

Combined with The Nashbar BB, fitment was perfect. Both outer chain rings are aluminium with only the small inner being steel which I've never seen at this price point. I usually don't write reviews even if I am pleased with a purchase. But the Nashbar product deserves to have something said about it.

Comments about Nashbar MT2 Mountain Bike Crankset:

This is a good product. I been using the crank for three weeks and it worked great I can't believe it is that good and for the price too. I am going to buy an extra one maybe to replace my XTR. I went on a trail by Lake Hodges next to the lake. The trail was full of big rock the size of small watermelons. The crank works fine. I am glad I bought it.

I have ridden this crankset in rain, snow and sun over 2000 miles and it has worked flawlessly. Fit perfectly on the nashbar ISIS bottom bracket installed on my Surly LHT. Only con so far is the black finish on the crank arms show scratches where they have been hit against curbs.

Comments about Nashbar MT2 Mountain Bike Crankset:

The chainrings were nice lightweight aluminum --- BUT I couldn't get them to fit my Shimano FC-M442 crank! The 104mm bolt circle diameter was correct, but the innermost edge of the middle chainring has a diameter of 88mm: 2mm less than its "seat" on the crank.

Comments about Nashbar MT2 Mountain Bike Crankset:

This is a [*] good crankset. I would have preffered more aluminum rings, however, much to my surprise, the steel outer & middle rings are respectable. They have the correct shift ramps and shift pins in place. The profile of the chain rings are correct, unlike some of the cheapie shimano stuff that is just horrible. The design is attractive and I see no reason why anyone would criticize this crankset. I have used many very expensive cranks over the past 33 years of cycling and this is absolutely the best bargain going .... steel rings and all. It is not a downhill super jumper and it is also not priced like one. If you can get over the ego image of explaining to your friends that you don't have a Race Face but instead a Nashbar you will be just fine. Cheap but good, get over it ........ like the guy at ING bank says .... save your money!

Comments about Nashbar MT2 Mountain Bike Crankset:

I bought this crankset because of it's great price and light weight. I originally had it set up with a 2009 SRAM X9 front derailleur but the cage stuck out too far and would not let me use the 44 tooth chainring. I purchased a new Shimano Deore FD and it works now, but still rubs the crank arm against the derailleur cage a little bit. I am planning on converting this to a double with a bash guard soon, otherwise I would have returned it. This is a shame too, since otherwise it is a very nice crankset.
