Comments about Shimano SD66 Cycling Sandals:

I live in Florida and it can get pretty hot out on the roads during the summer. The sandals are a great alternative to wearing biking shoes. We usually ride 35-50 miles at a casual pace of 14-16mph.

Comments about Shimano SD66 Cycling Sandals:

I wish the sandal was not so manly looking as I feel like my feet look so large when I wear them.
The old pair were designed differently much more comfortable than the new pair. I wear sandals all the time when riding the tandem.

Comments about Shimano SD66 Cycling Sandals:

Purchased my 1st pr. or Shimano sandals 15 years ago. Average about 2000 miles a year with them in all sorts of weather. Seem to have misplaced the original pair between MI and FL this year. Had to buy a new pair. So pleased the quality remains the same as my original pair, even better as the straps are thicker. Very comfortable on or off the bike. Good wool socks necessary for cold or wet riding but sandals can be adjusted to fit. Why would anyone stuff his/her feet into a shoe when this sandal is so comfortable?

Comments about Shimano SD66 Cycling Sandals:

The "bump" impinges on nerves in the feet, causing toes to go numb. I had the original two-strap black sandal and can't figure out what the designer clowns were thinking with this one. It is awful.

Comments about Shimano SD66 Cycling Sandals:

I have raved about the older version with two straps in black. I tried the next model with 3 straps and mesh insert. I did not like them at all. More like a shoe than sandel, too warm for summer weather. I tried the brown two straps new version but do not like the color, straight black looks better with most of my biking clothes. I hope the cojmpany goes back to the older version, it was the BEST! I would buy 2-3 prs of those.

Comments about Shimano SD66 Cycling Sandals:

I put about 100 or so miles a week on these this summer, and they are my goto shoes all summer. I might get weird looks from my group riders but I still like them. I wanted something for commuting on my fixie, and I swapped my road pedals to Shimano SPD ones for these sandals and to have a cycling shoe that didn't clip-clop all over the office. I love them for what I bought them for - riding normally less than 20 miles at a time.

I never go for long walks in them, but I didn't buy them for that. I like the simplicity of them, but do worry about the velcro eventually wearing out, but hasn't had any issues yet.

Only complaints are really the color brown when I dont ever see too many brown bikes and accessories, and the weight is very heavy for what they are. Just a side note that with all the miles I put on them, I have a weird top of my foot tan line that everyone asks about when they see it.

Love them and will buy more especially if they come out in black. Much more comfortable than the Keen ones that were never a good fit for me - too narrow.

Bought these and love them. They are very comfortable and clip in and out easily with my shimano pedals. Feel great when walking around because of the recessed sole. The cleat does not hit the ground. Look forward to use these during Iowas great RAGBRAI.

Comments about Shimano SD66 Cycling Sandals:

I bought these when I discovered that my old Shimano sandals showed wear in the strap that could prove to be a problem for an upcoming 500 mile tour.

They were briefly tested and seemed ok at the time. However that molded in bump proved to be extremely painful when walking for more than a short distance. It was not a problem with the earlier version. It appears that the bump is further back now than on the older sandals, which places it firmly under the ball of my foot. I do have a big foot and ordered the largest size (the same as my older sandals).

They are fine while on the bike.
