Comments about Nashbar Integrated Alloy Road Frame:

I bought this is a replacement frame for my crashed rain bike because it was cheap and in spite of it being white.

Now, I like it too much to take it out in the rain and I need a new rain bike.

Comments about Nashbar Integrated Alloy Road Frame:

Seems like a fantastic frame for the price, but it arrived with a damaged headtube...the paint is seperated from the dent, so it had to have happened after it was painted. Thus, the headtube is no longer round and I cannot install the top integrated bearing. Hopefully Nashbar returns my email soon and takes care of the issue.

IT WAS AS DESCRIBED BY SELLER AND ARRIVED ON TIME. WAS NOT SURE IF THE HEAD TUBE WAS DAMAGED IN SHIPPING OR DUE TO SITTING AROUND WAITING ON A FEW PARTS I NEEDED. IT WAS ALSO THE LAST IN THAT SIZE. I ORDERED A CHEAP STEEL HEADSET FROM AMAZON TO USE AS A TOOL, THAT ALLOWED ME TO KEEP THE SIZE AND SHAPE OF THE FRAMES TOP HEAD TUBE. I INSTALLED THE CRANE CREEK HEADSET WITH OUT ANY PROBLEMS. AFTER THE BUILD I WAS PLEASED AND ORDERED A LARGER FRAME FOR MY SELF THAT ARRIVED UNDAMAGED AND ON TIME. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS FRAME TO A FRIEND.

Comments about Nashbar Integrated Alloy Road Frame:

I really enjoy this frame but it was missing the derailleur hanger. When I called to order another hanger I was told they are out and wouldn't be getting anymore in at all. When asked what my options were I was told to return the frame. Instead I bought and filed down a 3rd party hanger. Also, it did not come with the barrel adjusters as shown on the picture (not a big deal). All in all I'm happy with the frame, but not happy with Nashbar's support of this frame.

Comments about Nashbar Integrated Alloy Road Frame:

I bought this because I was looking to build a semi-cheap Tiagra level road bike that I could put some serious training miles on. I am a clydesdale rider, so I tend to be hard and wear through equipment faster than most...so I bought this for a second training bike.

My ideal frame size for a non-compact conventional frame is almost exactly 59.5cm. After doing some research about this frame, prior to buying it, I saw the sizes tends to run really large. So I ordered the 58cm frame. After measuring the frame, it ended up being almost 60cm exactly from center-to-top. I assume the way the manufacturer is measuring this frame is more likely a center-to-center (middle of top tube) measurement. After building up the frame, I thought no problem, because I still had good standover with this frame...however I instantly noticed one thing other owners have pointed out: the top tube length tends to be shorter than average. I had to use a stem 2cm longer than my normal to get proper reach. I've read people say the headtube length seems long, but after owning over a dozen different bikes in the 15+ years I've been cycling, I think it's actually a proper head tube height. The rear chain stays are also pretty short relative to the size of my particular frame. This isn't necessarily a bad thing because it helps with aerodynamics keeping the rear wheel tucked close, but it does put a lot of weight on the rear wheel.

Having said that, it's onto the good! First off, the frame has a lovely white pearl paint job on it, which glistens in the sun. Some people do not like white frames - because they are very hard to keep clean - but they sure do look good. Another thing I like is the frame doesn't come with any tacky stickers on it - most budget frames usually have really ugly stickers, but they left the frame bare - which looks better bare than it does with tacky stickers. Other good features about the frame is you get barrel adjusters for the shift cables, two water bottle mounts, and the frame uses common size items (27.2mm seatpost, 31.8mm front derailleur clamp). Going the extra mile with an integrated headset is a nice touch (FYI - you can find Cane Creek headsets for around $20 elsewhere) that gives the bike a clean appearance.

While the aluminum frame is not the lightest thing in the world, it's also not the heaviest. I will have to wait and see how it holds up over time, but it seems to be decently made. The frame rides well and there isn't too much flex. The bottom bracket area has some lateral flex when cranking on the pedals, but this is typical for just about every aluminum frame. Only carbon frames can really address this with layering and direction carbon types.

Overall, I think it's a positive purchase for me - if it can withstand the durability of a couple seasons of riding.

The only reason I would not recommend it to a friend is because the geometry situation needs to be sorted out for anyone who is looking to buy this for some serious riding but can't/won't afford a proper bike fitting. If you need a budget frame, and are willing to get a proper fitting, then I would recommend it.

Put good components on it and it will look like an expensive bike :) i use it for everything - training, climbing, sprinting, etc. Great job and excellent price on this, Nashbar!

I bought this for a friend who was on the larger side and built up the bike for him. He loved it and was able to really push hard on it. We just rode a half century and he had no issues at all. He is about 250 lbs and 6ft tall. I reconmend this for a trainer or for people looking for a sturdy ride

I bought this frame on a sunday deal, it cost me under 90 bucks with shipping. You can not touch this for the price. I aquired a crashed alloy road bike with a busted drop out. I bought this frame, transfered everything over including the carbon fork. This frame built up nice and easy, no fussin or fighting. The bike rides nice, the white works with most any color you have in the parts bin. I had read some posts about the frame sizing and was a bit worried as I am 5'10" and the only frams available were either 50cm or 56cm or larger. I ordered a 56cm and it fits great! yes the top tube is a bit tall but not bad for a road bike. I would not advise getting a frame size basied on the seat tube measurement, make your decision basied on the top tube lenght. If I had gotten a 52cm or a 54cm, the top tube would have been too short and I would be looking for a really long stem. The 56cm is perfect for me. with 700x23 tires the standover is 32 inches. you might think its too tall but, think about dealing with a too short top tube. At 5'10" the 32 inch standover is just fine for a road bike.
