Comments about Topeak RaceRocket HPX MasterBlaster Mini Pump:

I'm a road cyclist and I do up to 150 miles a week during peak season. I've probably used this pump 5-6 times.

The pump is compact and well-designed. The only downside to its size is that it takes 250 pumps (I counted) to get my road tires up to 120psi. The first 100 pumps are easy, the second 100 are hard, and the last 50 are a serious arm workout. The barrel gets quite hot by the end, too. But it works, and you'll never have to buy CO2.

I first bought a cheaper pump, but it was bulkier and didn't mount as nicely as this one. I'm a penny pincher, but I think this pump is worth the premium. When the cheap one fails, the cab ride home would rapidly burn through any money I may have saved.

If you ride in the rain and mount the pump vertically like I do, make sure you mount it handle-down or it will fill with water.

Comments about Topeak RaceRocket HPX MasterBlaster Mini Pump:

I like the design of the pump, with a flexible tube leading from the pump to the stem, allowing you to move the pump as you inflate the tire. I like the pump, but have a similar Lezene that was better constructed for less money.

Comments about Topeak RaceRocket HPX MasterBlaster Mini Pump:

I had a Zefal HpX frame pump on my tandem, it worked great but was big and awkward to secure on the frame. After it got trashed, I looked for a pump that would pump tandem tires (700x28) to 120 psi and not take forever doing it but be small enough to fit inside the rack trunk bag. Looks like this Topeak does the job, I pumped a tire up to 140 psi in a reasonable amount of time. The only down side so far is that it comes with no instructions and set for Schraeder valves, it took me so long to figure out how to convert it to Presta and get it to seal I almost sent it back. The head screws down onto the Presta valve, all the way or it won't hold air.

Comments about Topeak RaceRocket HPX MasterBlaster Mini Pump:

I was able to fully inflate my spare and continue my ride. Works for presta or schr valves. Screws on to valve for a secure fit.
The only con is frame mounting. You either have to give up one of your water bottles or use the top bar. It sticks out a bit from the side and I bump it with my leg. No worries if you are willing to carry it in your jersey or give up a bottle cage. Really works well though.
