Comments about Nashbar Derby Softshell Jacket:

I wear it jogging down to about 20F, and depending on the wind, is sufficient with a cotton mock-T or turtleneck, with the cotton keeping moisture moving enough to not feel cold/clammy.

Comments about Nashbar Derby Softshell Jacket:

I was concerned that I bought this too large, and I would recommend actually buying up a size (I'm a L and ordered XL and it's perfect). I was biking the other night in freezing temperatures with a long sleeved t-shirt underneath (as well as biking gloves) and must say I was absolutely fine! Great night-time visibility to boot.

I use this over a thermal jersey when temps are near or below freezing and it does the job! Actually, at the two mile mark I'm probably sweating, but I enjoy a good sweat! 6' and just under 200 lbs the large works great for me!

Comments about Nashbar Derby Softshell Jacket:

Full disclosure, I'm from Chicago but have been living in San Diego for several years.

I bought this jacket because my commutes were getting too chilly for arm warmers. It's been in the high 30's and low 40's in the morning which makes for a chilly ride. This jacket is great in the beginning, but after I'm warmed up it can be a bit much. I run pretty hot and sweaty, so for most people this jacket is probably great for that temperature range. The biggest drawback that i see to this jacket is that it's bulky. When I bike home at the end of the day, it's too heavy/bulky to fit into my back pockets of my jersey. It can easily be stowed in a panniers or a backpack though.

Great option for fall/winter weather at the price.

I'm about 5'7" 180lb with most of my fat in my mid section. I wear about size 34 (waist) pants and size 42 suit jacket. The large fit me pretty well, but I could probably fit a medium too.

Very well-made, nice styling and fits true to size. Great color! Bought the blue and the red. I wish the companion bike Jerseys were the same color. Why isn't there a female version?

Comments about Nashbar Derby Softshell Jacket:

I wear this alone or under my rain jacket (shimano storm from Nashbar)
It is warm down to the upper thirty's with a base later. Not really windproof butwith an outerrlayer works well.
For the money you ccan't beat beat the value.
One question? WHAT'S WITH THE LEFT HANDED ZIPPERS?

Comments about Nashbar Derby Softshell Jacket:

Bought this jacket for cold weather riding, so far I've only used it on a 42 degree windy ride. It did an excellent job as far as the wind, did too good of a job as far as keeping me warm. I'd have to agree with other reviews in that it doesn't breathe that well, but then most of the sub $200 jackets don't breathe well either. The answer is learning how to layer properly which is not too much to expect from a serious rider. The jacket was true to size. I would have to agree that the rear pockets are hard to access and are too shallow but at this price point I don't hardly care. Bottom line is that this jacket does what it's supposed to and is a bargain.

Comments about Nashbar Derby Softshell Jacket:

Purchased this jacket because I already have a black one that's nashbar but it's not lined and needed something that was more visible, so I took a chance on this one. So far it seems to be holding up well. I went with the same size as my black one but new one runs little bigger.
