Comments about Nashbar Self-Sealing Presta Tube 700x19/26:

I gave these self-sealing tubes and the non-sealing tubes a fair shake as I bought a nice quantity. Some would not hold air right out if the box. The flats per ride ratio seemed to increase dramatically. The 29er tubes were just as bad. And I'm a huge Nashbar fan FYI.

Comments about Nashbar Self-Sealing Presta Tube 700x19/26:

This is the second Nashbar self-sealing tube that I had that sealed when punctured. Both times, I ran over some broken glass which seems to be everywhere. I could hear the air coming out but soon sealed. Both times I was able to continue riding 15 and 18 miles respectively to get home to change out the tube. Even though it sealed, I wouldn't take a chance that it would stay sealed.

Comments about Nashbar Self-Sealing Presta Tube 700x19/26:

This self-sealing tube saved my bike ride not once but twice. I didn't even realize I had a puncture the first time until I stopped riding a 62 miler. I noticed white stuff on my frame and had no idea where it came from. It wasn't until my second ride a week later when I had another puncture in the same tube and the fluid inside the tube sprayed out while riding. It sealed the second puncture as well as the first one. I would highly recommend this tube to anyone who wants to minimize the chance of a flat. I'm buying several more now.

pretty embarrassing to try to repair a flat with a tube
RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX that doesn't hold air!

Comments about Nashbar Self-Sealing Presta Tube 700x19/26:

In my first review I read others who used the tubes and had problems which I saw were easy to solve. After extensive use myself having a few punctures and the tube self sealing I've seen a problem with the sealant itself. It will eventually damage the inner walls of the tire and warp it. Also the sealant will ALWAYS have the inside of the tire and rim wet. This is not a good characteristic of the tubes.

These tubes have sealed when I got a puncture out on the road and miles from home. Although my tube lost air overnight but when you have two pieces of glass in the tires, I was probably lucky to make it home.

Comments about Nashbar Self-Sealing Presta Tube 700x19/26:

I bought 2 of these tires to try for the very first time. Since I don't get many flats I thought I'd have a good experience with them. First, they are a bit messy while inflating. The valve must be in the 12 o'clock position so the sealant flows to the bottom of the tire and doesn't leak out(very much!!!). Second, if the sealant does leak it can clog the valve nipple preventing inflation. However, it does stop punctures fairly well and will hold re-inflation untill tire can be patched. It may lose some pressure even after patching but will hold when inflated again.

I gave this tube a bad review earlier today after one blew up while I was inflating it. When I was putting on a new tube I looked closer and saw a tear in the rim strip in the same spot where the other tube blew. So there was no problem with the tube - the rim strip tear allowed the tube to contact the spoke nipple and that caused the blow up. So there was nothing wrong with the tube. A 2nd one I put on after replacing the rim strip was fine. Sorry for the false alarm.

This product has sealed several punctures this winter (4 Months-2000 miles)have not had to fix a flat while riding. I patched two punctures (glass?)when i noticed them at home. This tube means no roadside repairs great for cold weather riding. I had three competition flats last season am thinking about using this on rear tire to avoid flats when racing. Air up with valve at top.

Thought self sealing would be a good idea. First tube got a hole in it on second ride. It did sea; itself, to a point. It would gradually lose air so I would have to stop every 4-5 miles and re-inflate. When I got home I attempted to replace with spare. At 70 pounds the stem blew off the tube spraying this white goo all over everything. I will continue to take my chances with standard tubes.
