Comments about Nashbar Tempo Wireless Bike Computer:

At first I liked this computer. The price was right. It had extra features like calorie burn and thermometer. I used it two full seasons and replaced the batteries- still fine. After 2 1/2 years the sensor (part on the fork) stopped transmitting. I replaced the batteries, fiddled with the alignment and never got it working again. 2.5 years seems like a short life. I've owned 5 different computers over the years. 3 Cateyes, 1 Avocet, and this. I never had issues with the Cateyes, so I'll go back to them I never had one of them die- One I lost the head after 5 years, one my dog thought the sensor looked like snack, one got caught on something and the sensor went into the spokes after close to 20 years of owning it.

Comments about Nashbar Tempo Wireless Bike Computer:

I ride 140 mi per week. I've had 4, one was a replacement. The first lasted a year, the second 6 mo and 3 & 4 have the same intermittent problem starting within weeks of purchase. At initialization or after stopping for a few minutes they totally lock up, the clock stops, no speedo and no function can be selected. Always after 50 min they work again but losing the 50 min of data.

Comments about Nashbar Tempo Wireless Bike Computer:

I installed this bike computer before a 65 mile ride. During the installation, I noticed the sensor had to be extremely close to the wheel magnet to pick up readings. The computer worked fine for the first 10 miles or so of riding and then mysteriously stopped showing any info.

I tried adjusting the sensor and still got nothing for more miles and then the comptuter started working again for no good reason. It was disappointing and I'm returning this to Nashbar. If this computer requires such fine adjustments to work, it's not for me.

Comments about Nashbar Tempo Wireless Bike Computer:

I have used these on 4 or 5 bikes. They work well and are very inexpensive. I have had a couple sending units go bad, but you can buy a bike add on kit and get a new sender instead of buying a while new unit. I recently the display unit stop functioning properly. I returned it for an exchange with no problems. It was about 6 months old but was just recently put in service and about 3 rides in, it began to act weird.

It is very nice to now know exactly how far I've ridden. Especially since I frequently change my route, it's nice not have to approximate how many miles I ride.

Comments about Nashbar Tempo Wireless Bike Computer:

Very disappointing. Nashbar usually has good products but this one is terrible. It will work fine once and then not do anything at all. Take battery out and reprogram and it will work once again. Very frustrating. Going to try and return.

Comments about Nashbar Tempo Wireless Bike Computer:

I tried 2 of these computers and both seemed to be defective. And that is a shame as I really liked this computer. It looks great, has great functions, just a cheap internal design. Not sure exactly why it would stop working sometimes during a ride, before I even started a ride, at different times. It would freeze up and you could not rotate through the functions, the current speed would show 0 and the bicycle icon (indicating rotation of the tire) would flash rapidly. It would do this for well over an hour and then all of sudden it would start working again... as if nothing happened. The first time this happened with my first computer I sent it back thinking it was a glitch. Then when it happened with the second computer, I realized either I am doing something wrong, or the entire batch of computers is defective. I didn't want to try a third time so I ordered a Sigma.

Comments about Nashbar Tempo Wireless Bike Computer:

I set this up per specs. Used fresh batteries. It worked like a champ.... for about 30 miles. Then started to fail intermittently without reason - mid ride, after stopping at a light briefly. I'm sending mine back, seems a few others have gotten bad units as well.

the interchangable two-bicycle option will be great for use on both my road and mtn bikes. the computer clicks securely in its mount base so i probably won't lose it like the other brand i had. and as a fun extra - i get a readout of calories. i've set the temp reading on centigrade to help me adjust to worldwide measurements. Next, i'll brave it and set the miles in metric. at 72, it's one step at a time, baby.
