    Comments about Nashbar XR1 Saddle:

long rails allow optimal for aft positioning, long seat great for climbing and moving about on the seat to relieve pressure points. Good padding softer in pp zone denser for sitbonz. Not ideal for my old Peugeot seatpost because of it's bizarre seatpost that prevents the saddle from flexing. Saddle (on my newer bike) flexes almost like a Brooks, but is stiff back by the "wings." Material is smooth, this used to be called the glide saddle, and it is nice feature. No center cutout.

    Comments about Nashbar XR1 Saddle:

After only a few months of relatively gentle use, my saddle was visibly lower on the right side.

Nothing is obviously broken, but I am disappointed that my saddle warped/deteriorated so quickly.

I liked it while it lasted, but I'm moving on to a higher quality saddle.

Road race. Great saddle stiff for sprint flex for sit bones. Bottom line buy it as a spare use as everyday saddle.

        Comments about Nashbar XR1 Saddle:

I have been running this saddle for two years. I have it on three bikes. Like to race endurance distance so I do long rides. Never have any saddle issues. I notice when people jump on my bike they comment how comfortable the saddle is. And now they run the saddle. And you keep beat the price.

        Like a Fzk Arione

            Comments about Nashbar XR1 Saddle:

I have Tri bike that came stock with the Fizik Arione, a saddle I really like. I needed a new saddle for my road bike and ran across the Nashbar XR1. Some of the reviews said it is similar to the Airone, it looked similar, the reviews were good, so I ordered it.

When I received it I held it up next to the Fizik and other than cosmetics, the seats are identical. Both top and side profile look exactly the same. I then pushed on both saddles with my thumbs to compare the padding and the flex. Very similar, although my Arione was broken in. The Arione does flex a little more on the wings; the Arione has (patented?) features that allow more flex there. Both saddles have softer foam in the nose than in the tail, and if you look at the underside of the XR you can see the different colors of the foam through cutouts in the shell.

Next, I mounted and road the XR. It feels just like the Arione. I don't notice the difference in the wing flexibility while riding. If I were doing a blind evaluation, I am certain I would not be able to tell the difference. I love this saddle.

Bottom line; if you like the Fizik Arione, and it works for you, as it does for many, you will like the Nashbar XR at a fraction of the cost. Very pleased with this saddle. Five stars for comfort and value.

              Comments about Nashbar XR1 Saddle:

Saddles are a personal preference. Personally, for me this saddle is working out perfectly. I have gone through several in order to get the right one. I chose this saddle because it has a curved shape to it and closely emulates an old saddle I liked real well. Because of the comfort level and low cost this Nashbar XR1 saddle has been a home run for me!

              Comments about Nashbar XR1 Saddle:

I bought this to replace the Fizik saddle that came on my new bike. My butt would not adapt and after 40 minutes would start to hurt. I have not been sorry with this Nasbar XR1 after 2 months use.

                    Comments about Nashbar XR1 Saddle:

This saddle's shape is similar to the Fizik Arione, but it's a little softer and much cheaper.

It's made by Velo in Taiwan and sometimes sold under other names. I had the same saddle from another vendor with different labeling and the shell cracked after a few years of moderate use. Not a big deal and it was very rideable even in that condition. But I'm not sure of the durability. Even if this one dies young too, for about $30 it's tremendous.
