Comments about Exustar SM333K Carbon Mountain Shoes:

The reviews that note they run small are correct. The 36s I bought for my son's second CX season fit his size 2 to 2.5 feet just right. Even comes with spikes, a (cheapo) set of shoe bags and a spike wrench.

Massive buy if you get the fit right.

Comments about Exustar SM333K Carbon Mountain Shoes:

Been riding with these for a couple of weeks. Right out the box they were comfortable and lighter than my other clip less mountain shoes. My feet have felt fine on every ride. The only thing negative is I lost a toe spike on the very first ride but no biggie. They have worked great on rock, roots and mud I have ridden in.

Great shoe! BUT realize that this product runs small, if you wear socks (or double socks) I would recommend on going 1 US Size or 2 European size.

I use these shoes for my spin class. I purchased SPD clips and they work great. My left hip externally rotates and these shoes allow the SPD clips to be positioned to comfort my deviation.

I have had dozens of cycling shoes and these where great from the first ride. felt good on 4 hour rides straight away, a little tight up front but will give in time, sizing up is a must for wider feet. Velcro straps looked short, but it's the first shoe that hasn't collected loads of stuffs like straw and grass sticking to the Velcro. I will be racing in them and plan to use them on a week long riding holiday.

The price was great. Got it on clearance. Love the stiff carbon sole. Fits like a glove. I paid attention to suggestions from others to go a bit big and was glad I did. (probably a half size up is a safe bet.) Looks super cool. Super light.

Comments about Exustar SM333K Carbon Mountain Shoes:

One of the straps on my old mountain bike shoes is in danger of breaking and this looks like a good shoe to replace my old pair with.
Kudos to Bike Nashbar on quick delivery to Canada. I got them within a couple of weeks using ground shipping.
Well packaged; each shoe was coddled inside a cloth-like baggie and there's even a shoe bag for travelling around with them. Nice to see a manual too, but cleat installation is no problem for me, usually.
Unfortunately I had a problem with the right shoe SPD slots; they were somehow mis-aligned and my cleat would not set up properly. I fixed the problem and now the shoes are great.
Good product, maybe not the top of the heap but well worth a try.

Comments about Exustar SM333K Carbon Mountain Shoes:

The price could not be beat when I purchased these shoes. The outdoor season is pretty well over in Canada, and I've been using them on an indoor trainer setup. I've combined them with a pair of Crank Bros. Egggeater 1's, and the combination is solid. However I had a problem with the installation of the Eggbeater cleats. No matter how I tried I could not get the right foot "racing cleat" to properly position my foot in the pedal. The shoe heel was always rubbing up against the chain-stay and my knee was complaining within minutes. I had to modify the placement holes in the sole to fix this and now things are humming along nicely. Despite the "Carbon" logos all over this shoe, the sole does not seem to have all that much visible carbon; it's probably only a carbon / nylon blend.
Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase (especially at the price I got them for), but "buyer beware".

Comments about Exustar SM333K Carbon Mountain Shoes:

I first ordered the Exustar SM312 mtb shoe (NOT this one). I normally wear 9.5, and it turns out 43 was a little too small for me, because the shoe was pretty snug out of the box. But that wasn't the real issue. The right toebox was noticeable tighter than the left, resulting in constant pressure on my toes. So I sent them back in exchange for this model, with sz 44 this time. On my first ride (~20 miles), I experienced hotspots, which I assume is because my foot is weird, and needs arch support; I've yet to ride in a clipless shoe that hadn't given me hotspots after 15 miles. Anyway, something else I noticed was that the left shoe had a lump on the inside of the shoe, going from the heel to the midfoot. Conveniently, this lump was located right where my hotspot usually occurs. In a regular pair of shoes, it's not a big deal. But in cycling, any thing that's even mildly out of the ordinary would multiply and result in pain. So what feels like a barely noticeable bump in my left shoe quickly turns into pain after 10 miles. . . This is nail in the coffin for me with Exustar. From my experience, their shoes are just bad quality.
