      Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

Purchased these for my wife who alwyas had a phobia about clipless pedals. This pair replaced her old clunky Look style pedals. Turns out the SPD style of this pedal design, easy clip in and vesatility has cured that. She loves them and at the lowest settings she is happily pedalling way with greater confidence and much greater effiency! She loves them and we're doing a lot more cycling together!

This is my second pair of these. I sold my bike and couldn't find the original pedals that came on the bike. I immediately bought another set for my new bike. These allow me to ride with regular shoes when I bike ride with my kids and use my riding shoes when I am out on a serious ride.

        Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

I have about 10 000 miles on these pedals and they have performed well. I did not use the flat sides much until the day I forgot my shoes on an away from home group ride. I wore running shoes for the 50 mile ride and had no problem keeping up, or with foot comfort. The best use is on stop and go group rides, were it is very easy to start and clip in later as apposed to having to clip in right away (especially with road shoes/pedals). Another good use is when a ride gets sketchy; (pedestrians, cars, obstacles, leaves, ice, etc.) just ride on the flat sides until conditions improve.

I wish the flat side was a bit larger as I have seen some similar pedals with a larger platform. But, of course that might make them heavier.

I was using these pedals after minor knee surgery and it was painful to clip out until I set the release pressure much lower. I've never reset to a higher level as I realized for my riding style getting in and out easily is more important than a super secure connection. I recommend to someone going to "clip in" for the first time to set the release very low, (instructions included with the pedals) as long as you are staying connected under normal conditions (including standing) you're good to go.

          Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

These high quality pedals are a pleasure to use. OK, to be honest I sometimes feel a bit pretentious squeezing into cycling shorts and shoes just to take a quick ride on the bike paths close to my house. These pedals are 2-sided with the standard clips on one side and a flat platform with little nubs on the other. I've also bought Nashbar's 'convertible' mountain bike shoes with recessed standard 2-slot clips and ride a Nashbar AT-2 mountain bike. I've always been a big fan of Nashbar's house-brand and these pedals (shoes and bike) are competitively priced, durable and comfortable. I couldn't be more satisfied!

These pedals compare to the Shimano $100 pedals. They are light and constructed very well! Only have 50 miles on them but so far bullet proof! So far all my Nashbar products have been great!

            Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

I bought these for my 10 year old son for his first spd pedal and he really likes them. I notice that when we ride he has trouble clipping in at times and that's still after I have reduced the tension on the pedal. as a whole they work well with his SPD shoes on our fast paced training rides and they work well with his regular sneakers on just the platform side for riding to school.

I would purchase these again for my younger son's as they grow into needing SPD's.

              Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

Lightweight, works well, and inexpensive. Not clear how well the composite material will hold up over time, but worked well for me on a 200 mile trip with loaded bike a few days after I got them. Biggest drawback is lack of a place to apply a pedal wrench. Can only be installed and removed with a 6mm hex wrench. I bought them for my Bike Friday folder and must remove/re-install every time I pack the bike into Samsonite case to fly with me a luggage. (pretty often, actually.) If the pedal ever "freezes into the crank, this could make it difficult to remove.

                  Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

Bought these for a vacation so everyone could ride casually without having to wear dedicated SPD shoes, but also so that we could ride more aggressively with SPDs if we wanted. The pedal is lighter than all-metal equivalents. I price-compared versus another online store, and these pedals were a steal. So far, I'm very pleased.

Bought these for my wife along with Nashbar Pro R Road Shoes because she didn't feel like a real cyclist without them... she still isn't.

Back to the pedals... easy to install, first set of pedals that didn't require a pedal wrench. Very versatile, I like the option of flipping them over and using a regular sneaker if you were just going on a short ride or running out for a minute.

Very much considering buying another pair for my mountain bike.
