Flip flopping isn't just for politicians. The Nashbar Soho bike pedals give you the option to clip in on one side, or keep it casual and ride with your everyday shoes on the other. • Adjustable release tension makes it easy to clip in or out
  • Reverse side uses an injection molded nylon platform
  • Plenty of surface area for a wide, comfortable pedaling platform
  • Molded ridges help you get some grip
  • Steel axle is durable and lightweight
  • Ideal for commuters, occasional riders, those that don't feel like clipping in just to go get a cup of coffee
  • Cleats included
  • No pedal wrench needed, install with a hex wrench

Can't use with pedal extenders

By Sasquatch

from Milwaukee, WI

About Me Avid Cyclist

Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

Unfortunately if you use pedal extenders (as I do, to accommodate large boots with SPD cleats), you can't use these pedals. This was also mentioned in a previous (2014) review by another customer.

I was expecting to use a pedal wrench, as I have used for the previous 4 sets of pedals I've installed on my bike. I could not find any info in the product description saying that they tighten using a 6mm hex wrench inserted in the inboard end of the pedal shaft. Since I have solid machined pedal extenders, there is no access to the inboard end of the pedal shaft once it is threaded onto the pedal extender.

Easy to install on a standard crank set, though. Easier than using a pedal wrench. The entire Sasquatch family would appreciate if Nashbar updated the product description for future buyers!

    Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

Versatile pedals. Can be used with regular sneakers on the platform side, and flipped to the other side for cleated shoes. Both sides work well. I have them on several bikes and they are cost effective. II have a similar pair of Shimano A530 pedals on another bike and these are comparable. I would gladly buy again. Great job Nashbar

      Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

My wife loves these pedals on her commuter and her gravel grinder. She particularly likes having the option to use the flats for tricky sections she is concerned about in-clipping in time. I know that many of us would think, "Just learn to use clipless and overcome your fear," but she wouldn't have considered trying clipless without a platform on the other side. She likes the convenience of both options without having to swap pedals.

These pedals get new cyclists into clipless, I bought a pair for her friend and SHE now rides clipless but also likes the convenience of both options.

The pedals are decently light so we bought a pair for a friend who prefers to road ride but also wants the option to commute in regular shoes because it's her only bike. (I know, perish the thought!)

I actually don't use them myself because I have dedicated commuting bikes with platforms, but I always keep a pair on hand to get budding cyclists into clipless pedals - I'm a pedal pusher!

I'm older now and being cleated tight in is not for me any more. I tried these Nashbar Pedals and they are Great! Nice Easy cleat release or use the flat side to ride unclipped around town. Also great for starting out on cleats. VERY Easy Release.

Got these for my new fat bike. I wanted a clip in option and a open side. After a few minutes spent tweaking the release tension and the cleat settings, they're great. Very easy to clip into even under extreme conditions. Incredible value.

I ride trails and compete once a year in a race. These work great all summer long for my training rides. Then when I just need to be a Tug with the kids entow behind me to the playground or for ice cream with my chacos on or getting the mail they are like a knormal pedal. Full years use an no shown wear yet.
