Comments about Vittoria Randonneur Cross Pro City Tire:

I brought these tires to use on my Soma Double Cross for dirt/gravel riding and self surported touring both on pavement and off. At this point I only have 1100 miles of gravel and dirt touring on them with no flats or stone cuts and I have hit a good number of stones. The rear show wear and I am not sure how if it will hold up for another 1000 on the rear so i will move it up front. The only con is that while the tire is advertised as a 37mm width it is much narrower measureing at 32mm at best.

These are safe tires for city and bad road ridding , and not to big of a profile so you can keep your speed. Just safe ,,, hit a large rock and it will save your rim and keep you upright...good safe fast tire for rough city ridding.

Comments about Vittoria Randonneur Cross Pro City Tire:

Really nice tire, hard to find touring tires with reflective sidewall in this price range and these are great. I do partially loaded touring with these guys and no flats over a few hundred miles. They roll pretty easy and have good bounce, very balanced for touring. Only real complaint, and it is enough to knock a star, they are a HUGE PAIN to mount. You will need very nice tire levers. I'm running mavic rims and the fit was so tight I had to use the levers to install, even then it was a drag.

            High pressure on these tires

Comments about Vittoria Randonneur Cross Pro City Tire:

I mounted these tires on my touring Centurion with some difficulty. I had to grease the the bead just a little and increase the tire pressure to 140 psi to make them "pop" out into a perfect circle. When I did that, I decided to run them at 120 psi. That way, I get a faster tire, but still have the durability. Haven't had them peel off on a turn or blow off yet, and I don't think that they will. Though I only use the tires for city riding and long commutes (18 or so miles), I think that they will also work well for touring.

thought I would try these tubeless with a tubeless wheel but it turns out that bead of these tires have a very small ripple pattern to them and it was taking just to long for them to seal up so I kinda gave up on that deal. otherwise these are awsome tire for commuter, rail trail type bike not fast but brutal tough and the reflective sidewall is the best I've seen. my 700x37 measure 34 which seems to be standard with the goofy measuring system. my wife has 26x1.75 which she just loves em. very low cost for what u get buy em you won't regret it. remember the width thing though

Comments about Vittoria Randonneur Cross Pro City Tire:

I bought these tires to replace the stock cyclocross tires on my commuter. I have a short (<2 mile) commute everyday in an urban environment where I have to avoid potholes, gravel, glass, trolly tracks and whatever else Philadelphia streets throw at me.

First - these tires are extremely hard to mount. Probably harder than most cyclists have ever had to deal with. The trick is that when you have most of the tire mounted - except for that last 5-10 inches - push out the slack from the parts of the tire already on the rim towards the last 5-10 inches. I would suggest mechanics gloves since I gave myself some gnarly blisters on my thumbs mounting these.

Performance: these handle great in the city. Hard enough to roll without the "squishy" feeling cross tires usually have but run at a low enough PSI that potholes and bumps don't cause pinch flats. They even grip very well in the rain/wet conditions.

For the price - these are great tires for urban environment.

Comments about Vittoria Randonneur Cross Pro City Tire:

This tire needs to be checked to seat carefully on the rim, before you take it to full pressure.

It is pretty flat resistant, but a wire can go through the sidewalls. Rolls pretty well for a city tire, reflective, and has a fancy wear indicator too. Pretty reliable as city tires go.

Comments about Vittoria Randonneur Cross Pro City Tire:

This is a very good tyre! I've taken it over all kinds of roads and trails (I have them on my cyclecross/commuter bike). Haven't had any flats and it rides like a higher pressure tyre. If you lower the pressure to the min side it handels mild trails like a champ. The only complant I would have is it is hard top mount the first time. I have campy and Fulcrum rims so I know how to work around this problem. The key is to mount the tyre without a tube first and then remount with tube. this stretches the tyre and you don't mess up tubes.
