Shimano M088 Mountain Shoes
It's trail stomping time, and you're along for the ride. The Shimano M088 mountain bike shoes turn you feet from mere pedal pushers into all-terrain vehicles. The streamlined shape, aggressively shaped outsole lugs and reinforced toe box make these tough enough for tackling even the nastiest mountain trails. The volume plus toe box, tried-and-true ratecheting buckle system and fiberglass-reinforced polyamide sole ensure that comfort and performance also show up to the party. These are a great shoe for everything from commuting to casual riding to racing.
  • Fiberglass reinforced polyamide sole is stiff and lightweight for optimal power transfer
  • Rubber outsole lugs have an aggressive tread that can handle even the sloppiest terrain
  • Volume Plus last gives you a roomier toe box, but a normal fit through the rest of the shoe so you don't bash up your toes while riding
  • Synthetic and mesh upper are tough and stretch resistant yet breathable
  • Reinforced toe box provides an extra layer of armor to protect your little piggies

Comments about Shimano M088 Mountain Shoes:

I haven't actually worn these on the bike yet so I can't give you a full review. However, I have had Shimano shoes before and they have always worked out very well. I just bought these because I was thrilled that they were made in normal sizes (51-52) and that were available. Will miracles never cease?

Comments about Shimano M088 Mountain Shoes:

This is my first pair of cycling shoes and clips. I wear a size 13 and have a wide foot. Tried the 48 on at a bike shop but toe was to close to front of shoe. 49's are hard to find and most bike shops that I've been to did not carry that size. Found them at Nashbar, ordered them and received in a timely, couple days. Tried them on and they fit perfect! Toe box is wide enough that I didn't need to go to a wide size. I do strictly road cycling, having riden in the TD Bank NYC 5 Boro bike run and the ALS Express 75 mile ride. These shoes are the perfect alternative for someone who wants to switch to cycling shoes and have the ability to walk in them rather easily on the pavement and rest stops. 3 straps hold your foot firmly in place and the top ratchet strap allows easy adjustment while riding! GREAT SHOE! Can't say enough about them.

Comments about Shimano M088 Mountain Shoes:

I like the toe cup. In the mountains you don't want to smack your toes into a rock on a steep downhill (or anywhere else). I also like the ratchet combined with velcro straps. Keeps your feet secure. They are replacing a 20 year old pair of Specialized bike shoes (long since worn out). Hope they last as long.

GREAT SHOES!! I got these after almost falling in a tile floor restaurant w/ my SLICK hard plastic sole road bike shoes... These fit great and have rubber NON SLIP soles you can comfortably walk around in. I wear a big 14/small 15 narrow - I got size 51 and they are FINE!!

This shoe fits true to size I wear a size 14 wide and these in size 50 were right on the money. These shoes were a great find for me having to keep a budget in mind. I ride with my daughter 4 times a week and will be getting a pair for her soon.

Comments about Shimano M088 Mountain Shoes:

I bought these to replace a pair of aging shoes for use in road riding and triathlon. Just used them in a race and they were quick on and off in transition and very comfortable to wear. The toe is boxy with plenty of room for my spreading feet. I'm using them with Crank Brothers egg beater pedals with no problem (used the premium cleats). The under insole plate to attach the cleats is a bit cheesy, though.

Comments about Shimano M088 Mountain Shoes:

First time clip-less pedal/shoe user with tough to find large size. One of the few shoes to fit size 14 (US). Cleats are recessed, but still slightly exposed while walking on hard surfaces. Plenty of room in the toe box/shoe, enought to use arch support inserts.
