Comments about Shimano R087 Road Shoes:

I ride at least 100 miles a week year round in these shoes.
This is my second pair of R087's. I needed a back-up since I crashed and tore up my others.Though they are tough I may need to replace the buckle straps which I purchased. Well made and lighter than some carbon sole shoes. I prefer the push button straps for easy adjustment. Well vented. Price and durability make them my "go to shoes" for most rides. 8.5 sized to 42 just right.

Comments about Shimano R087 Road Shoes:

I bought these for primarily for Spinning and some road use. After a month and 150 miles they seem to be fine. I was concerned about the ratcheting top buckle but it really is not a probelm and does not seem fragile. I would have preferred just velcro but this design seems to be popular for the moment.

What I love about Shimano shoes is the size consistency. I wear a Shimano size 48. I KNOW that when I order a Shimano size 48 they will fit. I'm a club rider and put in a about 150 miles a week. These shoes are comfortable and good value for money.

Comments about Shimano R087 Road Shoes:

I have very wide feet, and these shoes fit pretty well. The two velcro straps and the ratchet style strap ensure a snug fit, and allow for easy adjustment if you need to loosen them up later.

This is my first pair of road shoes, and the only weird thing I found was the vent hole in the bottom of the sole. I have one toe that lands right in the middle of the vent hole. So it takes a half mile of riding or so for me to stop wiggling my toe in the vent hole.

I may want to consider inserts for these, as i also have a high arch, and sometimes feel like my feet turn in when pedaling hard.

I love them, they fit perfect, look great and will buy another pair when they go on sale again even if mine aren't worn out yet. This is a great name brand lightweight road shoe and can't be beat for the price!

I wear Asics size 13, 4E. These size 48 shimano shoes fit perfect except for the width since it's normal width. Only slightly narrow for me though. Nice finish, I do get some hot spots after a couple of hours.

I got these on sale for about $50. For that price, not too bad, I would have hated to pay retail. The SIDIs they replaced cost about 25% more, but were better. I don't like the fancy adjustable latch. Velcro is simple and will last forever, this latch will not. Hot spots my feet at about 80 miles, about the same as other shoes. At the end of my last two 120 mile rides, the bottoms of my feet were the only aches I had, a little disappointed.

Comments about Shimano R087 Road Shoes:

This is my first pair of cycling shoes since my trusty wooden soled Detto's from the '80s. I normally wear 8.5 EEEE in athletic shoes so let me say that these shoes felt good right from the start. Along with WIDE feet I have high instep/arches and the only caveat is I could not get the ratchet strap started. When I finally did get it started I could not ratchet the strap because I just barely got it in to the first notch. You need to get to the second notch to be able to ratchet the strap. After much fiddling I finally got the strap to ratchet. All of the the shoe manufacturers warn that the synthetic material will not stretch. Something has given a little since I can get the ratchet started fairly easily now. If you have standard arches this should not be a problem. Other than that it is a great fit as the toe box is pretty comfortable for my flippers.
