Nashbar Torque Wrench
Gone are the days of tightening bolts simply by feel and rough guess-timation. The modern day bicycle, particularly if you've got plenty of carbon fiber through and through, demands precision to remain in tip-top shape and that's where the Nashbar Torque Wrench plays such an important role. Take all the guess work out of tightening bolts to manufacturer's spec. The Nashbar Torque Wrench lets you pre-set the amount of necessary torque, and then lets you know when you've reached the limit by allowing the handle to hinge. It's fast, easy to use, and provides much-needed peace of mind knowing your bike is expertly maintained.
  • Includes 1/4-inch drive 3/4/5/6/8/10mm hex bits and T25 & T30 Torx bits
  • Chrome vanadium steel construction for strength and long-lasting durability
  • Attach or remove bits by simply pressing the button on the back of the wrench head
  • Wrench handle turns clockwise to increase torque or counterclockwise to decrease torque
  • Torque values are shown in Newton Meters (Nm) on the wrench scale (1-24 Nm range)
  • Includes storage case

    Comments about Nashbar Torque Wrench:

Having read both good and poor reviews, and having bought and used the torque wrench, I believe the poor reviews may be due to operator error and a lack of understanding how the wrench works. The wrench is NOT designed to start clicking when the torque setting is reached and to prevent over torquing the bolt. The instruction are very clear and say "When the torque setting is reached, the handle "will break free" and there will be an audible click, (Continuing to apply pressure after the click will result in higher torque than the original setting.)" I will make two points: 1) if you apply pressure slowly and watch the wrench head, when you reach the torque setting you will see the wrench head "break free" counter-clockwise, once and only once, and 2) the audible click is not very loud, if you are in a noisy environment, you may not hear it. It is a quality tool that works well when uses as designed.

        Comments about Nashbar Torque Wrench:

I bought the Nashbar torque wrench on a coupon, & I'm glad I did. It is easy to use, & handy to have for proper torque when wrenching in the garage. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the handle rotates a little too easily when using the wrench. This inadvertently adjusts the torque setting. Having some kind of lock mechanism would resolve this.

              Comments about Nashbar Torque Wrench:

Sadly fell victim to the coin flip this appears to be, as the reviews indicate, you either get a good one or you don't. Out of the box, it felt sturdy and looked good, but no matter how low I set it, it simply woulld not work. It's a risk / reward, for the potential reward of the price point, I'm okay losing the $7.00 return fee. Still love Nashbar and have had no issues after purchasing two complete Nashbar road bikes and bike stand, just unlucky with this one.

              Comments about Nashbar Torque Wrench:

Like others, I took a chance because of the price, and I got burned. It straight up didn't work. Thankfully, I tried it first on something else besides my dear steed. Nashbar, as always, is great about returns, but they should seriously consider dropping this item, or at least test them before they shipping.

Nashbar should stop selling this tool

              Comments about Nashbar Torque Wrench:

If you read through the reviews you will find that when this tool works as advertised, it's great, and when it doesn't, you break off a bolt. I took a chance and when it arrived I set it for the lowest torque setting to tighten a seat bolt clamp rated at 6 NM. Broke it. The torque adjustment is defective. Given the multiple complaints of this tool failing and the damage you can do to your bike with it, I suggest that Nashbar stop selling it.

When it arrived it looked like a great deal with bits included. First time trying to use it never clicked/broke away. Set the nm all the way to the bottom (least resistance)..still will not break away/click.
