Nashbar Torque Wrench
Gone are the days of tightening bolts simply by feel and rough guess-timation. The modern day bicycle, particularly if you've got plenty of carbon fiber through and through, demands precision to remain in tip-top shape and that's where the Nashbar Torque Wrench plays such an important role. Take all the guess work out of tightening bolts to manufacturer's spec. The Nashbar Torque Wrench lets you pre-set the amount of necessary torque, and then lets you know when you've reached the limit by allowing the handle to hinge. It's fast, easy to use, and provides much-needed peace of mind knowing your bike is expertly maintained.
  • Includes 1/4-inch drive 3/4/5/6/8/10mm hex bits and T25 & T30 Torx bits
  • Chrome vanadium steel construction for strength and long-lasting durability
  • Attach or remove bits by simply pressing the button on the back of the wrench head
  • Wrench handle turns clockwise to increase torque or counterclockwise to decrease torque
  • Torque values are shown in Newton Meters (Nm) on the wrench scale (1-24 Nm range)
  • Includes storage case

No Torque, Just Wrench

        Comments about Nashbar Torque Wrench:

I have returned two of these torque wrenches. It is a great wrench but the ability to "break" when a specific torque strength is met simply doesn't work. Put it on the lowest setting, like 1 nm, and you can put 15 nm force on the wrench and it won't let you know you've reached the limit. If you order this check the unit out on something that doesn't matter if it is over-tightened (I used an office chair) rather than on your carbon fiber seatpost.

            Comments about Nashbar Torque Wrench:

After I over-torqued a bolt using a regular wrench, I knew I needed this. The bolt flew apart and one section of it slammed me in the face a few millimeters from my eye. Still can't find a bolt that fits to replace it. But it won't happen again, now that I bought this Nashbar Torque Wrench. I like quality tools, and the craftsmanship on this unit is fantastic!

                Comments about Nashbar Torque Wrench:

Probably a great product - but it needs calibration. First application of the device resulted in over-tightening of N rated screws/washers. Other than that, seems to be high quality and a terrific value.

Nice tool for the price. The torque indicator only reads in 2nm settings, 2-4-6-8...... the nicer ones (more money) read in 1nm or even 0.5nm on some.

                        Comments about Nashbar Torque Wrench:

I already had 1/2" (Papa Bear) and 3/8" (Mama Bear) torque wenches, however both were overkill for working on my bike.

This wrench is very handy for the numerous 5 mm hex screws on the bike and added accessories. The assorted sockets are a plus and make the purchase a real deal. I really can't find anything negative to say about this 1/4" torque wrench.
