Nashbar Torque Wrench
Gone are the days of tightening bolts simply by feel and rough guess-timation. The modern day bicycle, particularly if you've got plenty of carbon fiber through and through, demands precision to remain in tip-top shape and that's where the Nashbar Torque Wrench plays such an important role. Take all the guess work out of tightening bolts to manufacturer's spec. The Nashbar Torque Wrench lets you pre-set the amount of necessary torque, and then lets you know when you've reached the limit by allowing the handle to hinge. It's fast, easy to use, and provides much-needed peace of mind knowing your bike is expertly maintained.
  • Includes 1/4-inch drive 3/4/5/6/8/10mm hex bits and T25 & T30 Torx bits
  • Chrome vanadium steel construction for strength and long-lasting durability
  • Attach or remove bits by simply pressing the button on the back of the wrench head
  • Wrench handle turns clockwise to increase torque or counterclockwise to decrease torque
  • Torque values are shown in Newton Meters (Nm) on the wrench scale (1-24 Nm range)

        Comments about Nashbar Torque Wrench:

Great tool for the price. Just got a carbon road bike and needed nm torque wrench.

The only problem I have is that it was set at 6nm when I opened it. All torque wrenches should be stored at zero as the springs develop memory if stored with tension on them.

Nashbar, Please take note of the tension comment above and talk to the folks that you get these from. Storing them with tension is not good. I am a QC inspector and teach classes on use of torque wrenches.

This tool is a necessity for anyone working on their bike. The fact that it comes with the most common hex and torx sizes is a bonus. No toolbox is complete without it. Nashbar even quality assures each set. Kudos!

                    Comments about Nashbar Torque Wrench:

The kit is compact and well organized in a sturdy plastic case.
All the necessary tools are included.
Only complaint is that the 100 mm hex is not long enough to reach the bolt of my Campy crank. I will need an extension.
I would recommend it, but with the caution of not having an extension.

Great for carbon components assembly and small parts. Not for bottom brackets, crank bolts, etc. Nice set of bits, though I wonder if I'll ever use the 8mm with this wrench.

                      Comments about Nashbar Torque Wrench:

I have the 'Venzo' version of this wrench but it's exactly the same device, even price. I was impressed actually with the case quality and included bits, and the ease of use with the wrench. IF YOU FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS for breaking the wrench in (first), it works very well. I tested it in a vise for torque 'clicks' and learned what to look for when the tool reacted to a max torque. The key is to torque s-l-o-w-l-y and look for the wrench to react at the head.

The head of the wrench will move to one side and produce a 'click' sound. You will know when torque has been reached. The dial system is easy to read; just make sure you undo/unscrew any tension in the wrench prior to storage. It's a small tool but performs well for most of the smaller torque applications that are required on a bicycle.
