Comments about Lake MX200 Mountain Shoes:

Tried a couple different sizes, and couldn't get the top strap tight enough to keep these shoes from slipping off my feet - Poor design. Don't bother buying these unless you have thick feet.

Comments about Lake MX200 Mountain Shoes:

I bought these shoes one size larger to compensate for my wide foot. It fits OK; maybe 1/2 size too large but that is fine, better than too small. The ratcheting strap needs to be longer for my foot. Walking is very easy with these shoes unlike my last road shoes. I plan on using these on my road bike as well.

Comments about Lake MX200 Mountain Shoes:

had another pair of Lake shoes for years - they wore out.

two velcro straps are OK. was a little concerned about the buckles: took some getting used to, but OK. also concerned about the longevity of the buckles.

we'll see as time goes on.

Comments about Lake MX200 Mountain Shoes:

I have wide feet and Lake offers wider toe boxes. Since I still own some >10 yr old Lake MTB lace-up shoes, which held up very nicely despite heavy trail abuse, I looked at their homepage first. It turns out that they have excellent foot measuring instructions and tell you accurately what size will fit (length and width!).
So, I went for Lake's again and couldn't be any happier. They were a perfect fit out of the box, have the right stiffness, feel, and look solid. I have taken them on five ~20-30 miles rides including some really muddy trails. They were comfortable from the first minute on, no hot spots, no numbness, just perfect.
I actually was so impressed that I also upgraded to Lake road shoes with BOA (on sale here, too). The same great experience. So, in my experience, Lake sells well-made shoes that actually will match their sizing charts.

Comments about Lake MX200 Mountain Shoes:

I bought these on clearance for a smoking good deal (thanks Nashbar!). I have put about 10 rides on them and couldn't ask for more in an economical shoe. Fits correct to size and is comfortable. It does everything you want a decent shoe to do without the high price. Unfortunately, I think this model has been discontinued. What a shame. If you can find them, BUY THEM!

Comments about Lake MX200 Mountain Shoes:

I bought these shoe because I have other Lake shoes and have not had any problems with their products. They are not the lightest but I knew that before purchasing and if that is the only con about the I can live with that. Although I do not have all that many miles on them I would have to say that the souls are plenty stiff enough as compared to my carbon souled shoes.

Seems to be a decent shoe. Kind of on the heavy side, but the fit and comfort is good.
